Slumbering city in autumn and winter.

Slumbering city in autumn and winter. We were there for a specific event and chose the city and hotel based on location. I can imagine the city comes alive in the summer when the conditions are right, but in the autumn when we were there it was grey, rainy and closed.

It's a quiet, pleasant little town with small shops and also some large chains. Good restaurants by the lake, lovely parks around the lake. The market square is beautiful, the church is wonderful with its blue ceiling paintings and little stars, and there's also a small museum with lots of exhibits from the time when the town was still called Berlinchen. So, Berliners, head to Berlinchen, it's wonderful!

In particular, we recommend the entire gastronomic and tourist infrastructure located at Lake Barlineckie, with its hiking and cycling trails and the very interesting historic municipal swimming pool (a sandy beach and separate swimming areas supervised by lifeguards, surrounded by a viewing platform).

A great place for a short getaway to relax.

A great place for a short getaway to relax. There are plenty of walking trails nearby, including around the lake. The town itself is full of restaurants and shops offering every kind of essentials – grocery stores, pharmacies, and a gas station. My husband and I visited Spiżarnia twice, and the food there was delicious; both my husband, a carnivore, and I, a vegetarian, easily found dishes we liked.

Compared to southern Poland, hiking trails are very poorly marked: there are no arrows indicating directions, distances in kilometers, or walking times. The starting and destination points are also unclear, so without navigation and accurate maps, it's easy to get lost in these wonderful forests and impale yourself on the antlers of... a moose! ;-)

Good place to stay. The owners are step by step changing this hotel to a nice and comfy place for travelers. Rooms are spacious and light. Bathrooms are clean and beds are comfy. Surely we'll stay there again.
