I was at hotel Grano many times. Most of times I visit Gdansk, I stay at the same hotel (Grano), but sometimes I try new hotels and then next time I’ll be sure that Grano is the best.

Great hotel! It is located in the heart of Gdańsk. We stayed for two nights with our children and dogs. As it was weekend and summer, nightlife was very busy in the streets around us, but luckily we did not hear anything in our room and could sleep well. It might be good to ask for a quiet room in advance, other rooms seemed to be more exposed to the noise of surrounding streets. Great service, good breakfast, clean room with a lot of space, comfortable beds, air conditioning and a nice view. Good and safe parking in the garage under the hotel. A lovely ice cream bar around the corner and a pizzeria just outside the hotels main entrance. Everyone in the family enjoyed the stay at the hotel and in Gdańsk. We are looking forward to our next visit.

FAQs about hotels in Gdańsk

Charming Architecture And a Breath of History

Called the Amber Capital of the World, Gdańsk is the major shipping seaport and the most beautiful city along the Polish Baltic coast. It has everything a city of this scale needs: a fascinating history, great architecture and a friendly atmosphere!

Also known as Danzig due to its complex past with periods of Polish, German and self-rule, the city is part of the Tricity urban area together with the port city of Gdynia and the popular spa town, Sopot. It’s also a birthplace of the world-famous Solidarity movement, which helped to bring down the Communist rule in Poland initiating the end of the Cold War era.

Its charming buildings were rebuilt in a historical style after the near-complete destruction during the World War II. The colourful town houses of the Old Town can be admired by boat on the Motlawa River or enjoyed while strolling along the popular Long Street and Long Market.

While in Gdańsk, make sure you visit the 15th-century St Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in Europe, and you make a wish at the Neptune Fountain, the city’s patron. While in town, try the legendary local Goldwasser liqueur with 22 karat gold flakes!

Whether you reach Gdańsk by train or plane, Booking.com offers a variety of accommodation near the Lech Walesa Airport, the picturesque Old Town or the general city centre.

It was a really surprising place for me, I chose the place without proper research upfront and I was surprised in a very pleasant way. The city is very vibrant and also very colorful. His architecture will thrown you in the old times but also enough to keep you in the present with all his cute coffee shops and restaurants . It definitely worth exploring . I recommend it if you want something cozy and historical.

Gdansk was a great place for a short city break.

Gdansk was a great place for a short city break. We arrived via plane at Gdansk airport which is a great airport; very modern and well run and got a taxi to our apartment (while there is a variety of cheap and reliable public transport from the airport to the centre, as we arrived in the rain and late at night, we thought a taxi would be best). After settling into our apartment we went out exploring, and Gdansk is a truly beautiful place. The various gates surrounding the old town are spectacular, the main market street is excellent for a stroll, as is the riverfront, while the various churches are stunning. There is also a lot to do in and around Gdansk. There are a multitude of souvenir shops, a variety of guided tours around the city, and many boat trips to be had from the waterfront, although some of these are a rip off so be careful. If you do get bored within Gdansk however, you can get the tram or train to various places in the surrounding area; we got the tram to Kotka Cafe which was great, and if it wasn't for poor weather, we were planning on going to see Malbork castle, which is only a short, and cheap, train journey away. As for food, you're spoilt for choice here. There are so so many restaurants and cafes with lots of different cuisines. We personally tried Pierogiarnia and a magic themed cafe which did huge pancakes, while also making the most of the Christmas Market while we were there.

A beautiful city with a lot of very interesting and historical places. Peaceful atmosphere and friendly people. Sailing with the "pirate ship" to Westerplatte recommended, as well as Chopin concert in St. Catherines Church and city tours with a guide in a golf cart. The Christmas market was very interesting. Good restaurants, for example Billy´s, Motlava and Pietro.

A wonderful City with beautiful architecture around every corner. A comprehensive network of very frequent buses, trams and suburban trains makes getting around cheap and easy. Good train links to other Polish cities too eg Warsaw just over 2 hours away. Also there are some excellent beaches 15 minutes from the city by tram. Museums, Churches, Cathedrals, this city has it all.

Lovely host. It is a good place, located in area of 80th estate blocks...a bit creepy at first however quiet, safe and friendly. There is a bus stop 5mins walk and 15mins walk to the nearest beach. 30mins drive to Gdansk old town, closest to Sopot pier aprox 10mins. Overall, good price and spacious flat.
