A beautiful city, rich in history.

A beautiful city, rich in history. A must-see is the monastery, the museum (former high school), the Jewish cemetery, and the municipal cemetery with the beautiful tomb of Maria Jaroszówna. Lunch is best served at the monastery restaurant.

A small town, with a market square ruined by "revitalization...

A small town, with a market square ruined by "revitalization," clean and tidy, with interesting religious monuments. Most interesting: perhaps nowhere else in Poland (not even Kazimierz in Krakow) are there so many traces of Jewish tradition and history.

A small town in the Subcarpathian region with a rich history. The monastery and surrounding infrastructure are a must-see, and it's also a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

For those interested in religious buildings – the lavishly...

For those interested in religious buildings – the lavishly decorated (Baroque) basilica is HUGE, the organ is world-famous, and a concert is an absolute must. It's also worthwhile exploring the traces of Hasidic culture in the town. There's a nice café, ELIZA, in the town center (a 15-minute walk) near the market.

A clean, beautiful city.

A clean, beautiful city. I was pleased to spot old wooden houses here and there, some well-maintained, but most awaiting a sponsor. And the beautiful tenement houses in the market square are a delight – but you have to see them for yourself. In Leżajsk, I had my own three-day outdoor photography session, which I consider a success.
