The staff was lovely. We were welcomed by Jessica at check in and she was super helpful and friendly. We made use of room service and the staff was also very lovely and efficient. The room was spacious, the bed large and very comfortable, and the bath water powerful. The parking for the car was very convenient and worked very well as everything is within walking distance.

Stayed here for one night while passing through, was too short, the owners were more than helpful, waiting up for us as we didn’t arrive till late and gave us breakfast early next morning. Spotlessly clean , shame we couldn’t have stayed a few more days. We will be back

Everything, superb apartment, best we have stayed in while in Portugal. Wonderful host tiaga was professional courteous and very helpful. We had the bonus of an upgrade with a beautiful view of the river. If you are planning to stay in agueda this is the place .

great food (specially recommend the small family restaurants - like RIBEIRINHO with great homemade food, delicious house wine and olives - and tascas - like GAMBUZINOS) in every corner. + the CAA cultural center offers concerts, opera, theater and art exhibitions. + the biggest and the smallest santa claus in the world (guinnes book) from november till january. + great outdoors around the city. 1h20 of à pleasant walk through corn fields to reach ESPINHEL view of the PATEIRA DE FERMENTELOS - the biggest natural lake in iberic peninsula with great and specific fauna & flora (RIAS ecosystem). + don’t miss the PIGLET (with black pepper sauce), CHAUFANA (ham) and BORREGO (lamb) that are the typical meals of the region. and add for desert or coffee PASTEL DE ÁGUEDA or TORTA DE AGUEDA, both delicious pastries with almonds and ovos moles (yolk sweet cream). thumbs up for the local house wine. + the town is proud of the umbrellas decoration and the street art (graffiti) town commissioned, but i’ve my critics.

It's a beautiful and very peaceful town, perfect if you're...

It's a beautiful and very peaceful town, perfect if you're looking for a lovely place to relax. You can get around by train or Uber; it's relatively close to Aveiro, which is beautiful, and has lovely river beaches. The people are friendly.

The views and the riverside walk are fantastic.

The views and the riverside walk are fantastic. The restaurants near the river are very welcoming. The town is on a hill, but it's lovely to see so much street art and so many umbrellas hanging from the buildings.

It's a very clean and beautiful city, and it's a must-visit...

It's a very clean and beautiful city, and it's a must-visit during the festival; the streets are gorgeous and colorful. The restaurants are quite affordable. I plan to return near Christmas, which, as I've seen, features the world's largest and smallest Santa Clauses.

The streets adorned with umbrellas, so famous and appreciated throughout the country and beyond, were missing. They had just been removed and will be put back up in November 2023. Águeda doesn't have the same charm as it does now...

A beautiful town with a unique charm.

A beautiful town with a unique charm. I visited during the Christmas holidays and all the streets were illuminated with umbrellas and lights; it was gorgeous. Full of shops and very pleasant streets for strolling with a great atmosphere. I loved it.

The location of the apartment was very good, very central in Agueda. The apartment size was great, we were 4 adults and the rooms, living room/ kitchen had plenty of space and were furnished (could have some bedside tables, we had to leave phones and water bottles on the floor by the beds, or use a chair from the living room). The massive balcony was a plus. The check-in was super easy using the padlock code to retrieve the keys.

Our host was so welcoming and kind, which made us feel at home right away. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, with a really comfy bed and a fan to keep cool. While the shower wasn’t the biggest the water pressure made for a great experience. It’s just outside Águeda, but getting into town was super easy and inexpensive (about €3 by Uber) Breakfast was simple but fresh delicious and plentiful.
