The breakfast was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is varied and reasonably priced. The small town is quiet with good restaurants and easy access to local towns and Portalegre.

The whole area is very pleasant.

The whole area is very pleasant. Good for those who want to relax. Besides Alpalhão, we visited Castelo de Vide, Marvão, Portalegre and Nisa. And we still had time for lots of romance and relaxing by the pool.

There's nothing worthwhile to see unless you take the car...

There's nothing worthwhile to see unless you take the car and go to towns like Castelo de Vide, Marvão, etc. Even for lunch it's better to go elsewhere. I don't want to return here because the hotel is even worse than the village.

The locals (Alpalhenses?)

The locals (Alpalhenses?) are friendly, and you should greet people on the street. The town center, with its cobblestones and old houses, holds a lot of mystery. The surrounding area is also beautiful. Walking through the Alentejo countryside is pleasant. The A Regatta restaurant is known for its generous regional dishes. You should call ahead because it gets busy.

Tranquility and gastronomy :) Restaurante a Regata with a tomato soup to die for and a divine dogfish stew with coriander, fantastic coriander migas...the desserts (Sericaia, Encharcada de nozes, pao de rala...divine)

- Friendly staff. Good and varied menu at the "Chaparro" restaurant, except for the picanha, which is of poor quality. Good breakfast, but with little variation throughout the stay. Good hotel facilities and a good swimming pool. - Poor Wi-Fi network. Little information on tourist sites and hiking trails. Lack of shade in the guest parking area.

I only stayed one night.

I only stayed one night. Overall, it's good, not exceptional, but I might gladly return. Interesting price/quality ratio. I found the single bed very narrow, which makes it uncomfortable. Easy access via IP2.

Great place for the rest with family or just quite relaxing time. Lost of animals, beautiful interior and nature, very tasty breakfast! But be aware that it's not a 5-star hotel, there are some specific moments as at farm.
