Lovely peaceful location perfect for exploring Geres National Park. Lovely pool and breakfast facilities. Staff were helpful and provided laundry services for us at a low cost.

The venue is located in a rural area, which is what we wanted. The surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful. I am a light sleeper, so really appreciated the fact that there was no noise at night. The room was a good size, and the bed and pillows comfy. The shower was excellent, and the room had tea and coffee making facilities. It also had a balcony overlooking a river, and a hammock ! The communal areas are large. The main area had a large tv, lots of seating, an open fire (during winter), great Wi-Fi and 4g reception. There is also a small swimming pool - well maintained, a free pool table, and hot and cold drinks available (including wine and beer) which you can purchase. The rooms also had air conditioning. The breakfasts were excellent. This is a family run place, and the family and staff were fabulous. They are very proud of their locality, and will provide you with any information that you need to make the most of your stay.

Everyone was lovely and very friendly. The bed was super comfortable, and it was great after a long day of sightseeing. The fact that there was a shuttle bus to the pool was great, especially as it was extremely hot to be walking around. Great stay! Would highly recommend.

It was our first time out with our 8 months baby and we had a memorable stay at Pousada Caniçada-Gerês. Staff went above and beyond, from reception to cleaner. We felt at home away from home. Fireplace room is really cosy and has a stunning view of Cavado River. Thanks a million to Amanda, Ana Maria, Lilliana and cleaner (sorry can't remember the name).

Simple, honest, clean, and very well located. Excellent value for money. Good breakfast, good restaurant, and very attentive staff. It's close to the main trails and tours in the park, so you won't have to go up and down the winding road that connects Vila do Gerês to the waterfalls every day.

A beautiful, quiet place in the national park, a good...

A beautiful, quiet place in the national park, a good starting point for excursions. However, those looking for more shops or tourist facilities will be better off in Geres. In Ermida, goats are still driven through the streets by a shepherd and dogs, morning and evening.

The surroundings are very peaceful, with several hiking...

The surroundings are very peaceful, with several hiking trails starting right from the house. There's a viewpoint overlooking the valley less than 50 meters away. The accommodation has a restaurant, although the menu isn't extensive; it offers meat and fish (beef and sea bream/cod). Our cell phone reception was excellent, and there was Wi-Fi.
