We stayed at Thomas Suite for just one night while hiking on the island, the place was fantastic, located in a small village with only local people around, beautiful views and peace. The apartment was very clean and cosy, the owner put lots of effort to add some extra details, soft towels, comfy bed, small kitchen with all you need to make a quick meal. We liked it a lot!

Breathtaking, exceptional plce to stay. Incredible - one of a kind experience. The staff, the room, the grounds, the restaurant - perfect. The location is NOT for those with a fear of heights as it s perched on a cliff and requires walking on narrow paths. It is also a very narrow road with hairpin curves to access the hotel.

The hotel in Jardim do Mar has apartments with fully equipped kitchens, more suitable for couples or families for 2 or more nights. The room I have is huge with two large beds, a large bathroom and of course the kitchen. The lady at reception is very helpful and friendly and there is also a dinner buffet (excluding drinks) for 20 euros, with a choice of chicken, meat and fish, plus salads and desserts. The location is perfect for those who like to hike. The place seems to have been around for a while, as you can see from the 80s? 90's? deco. There is a cottage-style common room with sofas and a small library. The beautiful footpath PR Vereda Prazeres to Paul do Mar (700m, 1.80km) is right on the hotel grounds and is a great way to visit the small fishing village of Paul do Mar. Unfortunately, the weather was at its worst when I was there, but of the few hours of sunshine I did get, the view from the balcony was simply stunning.

We had room 34 it was perfect. The staff was super nice and gave great advice about driving and hikes. We had dinner in the restaurant which is simple but very tasty. Also, it was easy to find and park and in the village.

Our host welcomed us personally with an invitation to pick fruits from their garden. The strawberries were yummy. And it wasn't only the warm welcome. We found everything to be perfect, from the private parking spot, the firm mattresses down to the fully equipped kitchen – and that is FULLY as in Nespresso included.

Gabriel and Jorge, the hosts, can create an atmosphere of being welcome, of being home - not being client XYZ… The suites/apartments have roughly the size of a big hotel room (including a nice bathroom in the rocks), but with a big terrace facing the sea. The mattresses are of good quality so the basis for a good sleep is ensured. The kitchen (which is part of the room) has a single ring (induction) and a microwave - enough to prepare a breakfast, but not a full-fledged dinner. But there are enough nice restaurants in Calheta centre or… one can book a meal prepared by Gabriel, who is not only a great host but also an excellent chef. It was really a wonderful time we had at this place, thanks Gabriel and Jorge!

The place is ok, but the artificial smell was overwhelming.

The place is ok, but the artificial smell was overwhelming. For sure we have left our usb car charger in the room. The host allowed us to check if it was there, but obviously it was removed while the room was being cleaned. So we didnt get it back, while host was pretending it wasn't there in the first place or it was taken by other people. I found it very disappointing.
