The staff is very frindly and hosting, I felt like I was a guest that had been waited. Hotel administration truly values your stay and comfort and offers room upgrade when they have spare. It is also notable in every detail. Feela like all hotel, service and atmosphere is a guest oriented. The hoter exterior and interior design is decent and minimalistic, made with nature materials and colors, that helps you to relax from eye pollution. The restaurant service and food are great and delicious, I even tried currant (which I haven't been able to find for a long time). Moreover, the location is perfect: you live in a small village in 5star hotel observing picturesque viewes and having beautiful hiking trails nereby.

Extremely clean and tidy! Nuno is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about Sabugueiro and the customs of the region, as well as generous with his time. Good beds, good blankets, a lot of it fair trade. Sambuc'asa is warm in every way, and we can't recommend it strongly enough.

Loriga is such a characterful mountain village with...

Loriga is such a characterful mountain village with everything you need for a short stay. Its location in the Serra da Estrela is perfect for hiking, as well as swimming in its fabulous praia fluvial. It has plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars etc. It's very steep though and much of it is not easily accessible by car. Try O Solar restaurant and also O Vicente...both serve excellent food.

Loriga is a gorgeous town, not unlike many in the area of the Serra da Estrela. What sets it apart is a great river beach (praia fluvial); its closeness to the Parque da Serra da Estrela, an easy 20-minute drive; and it's less busy than other more popular towns. Driving through Loriga's streets can be a daunting experience if you are not used to very narrow streets and steep slopes. If you plan on staying try to find lodging close to the main road.

Loriga is an absolute gem in the heart of Serra da Estrela! Nestled in a stunning valley, it's often referred to as the "Portuguese Switzerland" because of its breathtaking mountain views and charming atmosphere. The village has so much to offer—crystal-clear natural pools, perfect for a refreshing swim in the summer, and scenic hiking trails that showcase the beauty of the region year-round. Walking through Loriga's narrow streets, you can feel its rich history and unique character. The traditional stone houses and friendly locals make it feel like stepping back in time. Plus, the local food is incredible—don’t miss out on trying the regional cheeses and sausages! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Loriga is a must-visit. It’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression!

Loriga is a very beautiful place, with excellent landscapes...

Loriga is a very beautiful place, with excellent landscapes and very close to Torre, as it is located on the slopes of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. The people are very friendly and easy to get along with. Excellent bread, some of the best kid goat I've ever eaten (Vicente's). Getting around on foot is possible, but as it's in a valley, it involves many ups and downs.

A peaceful place, cooler than the country's coast, close to other tourist attractions such as Piódão and Serra da Estrela (see more details on Google). Excellent for nature walks, it has the Roman road and bridge very close by, very friendly people, and a full range of shops (café, pharmacy, variety store, restaurant, lottery, etc.).
