This area is good for many side trips.
This area is good for many side trips. I would recommend visiting Marváo in the morning; then Cascata Trail de Marvão in the afternoon with a little side trip to Espanha (while in the area). It's worth the drive from Lisbon, though I must admit it is quite a long drive. But the place is a surprise, a hidden gem, that needs to be experienced. A 2-night stay in this charming medieval village is the minimum. Hotel is located on the top of a hill with fantastic views. Parking is ok, with a short walk to the front of the hotel. There are narrow streets, uneven cobbles and steps which is the character of the town. Rooms were clean and tidy, very quiet. Restaurant staff were engaging, food was great and served well.
