This property is in a league of its own, and if I could give it a higher rating than 10, I would. The property is located in the night sky reserve of Portugal, which is an area with minimal light pollution. We were very sad that we only reserved one night here, and are planning to come back here during our next visit in Portugal. If you get a change to stay here please do! The property is pretty big, but beautiful and unique. The rooms are amazing and the service is next level! The rooms are big and clean, and the amenities are plentiful. The employees are wonderful, extremely friendly and helpful! Additionally the property has some of the oldest olive trees, a beautiful infinity pool and a relax area where you can play on a billiard table or just relax. During the night you can lay on a sun bed and watch the stars. They also serve some food. During our stay the main restaurant was not open, but they are planning on opening it again. Breakfast was also great, and there was plenty of choice.

Nice and spacious apartment with AC in the living room (if you leave all the doors closed but the bedroom one, the AC will cool it down as well). All the amenities needed (coffee machine, washing machine, microwave, toaster, oven, electric and gas cooker etc...). The lady was lovely, and the area was lovely and quiet with a beautiful view from the balcony. Very quick to respond to any of our questions, we even locked ourselves out at 9 pm, and they were at the place to unlock the door for us within 10min. Highly recommend 👌

It took longer to retrieve our rental car from Lisbon than we expected, and we stopped in Evora on our way to Monsaraz. We arrived late and left in the morning, leaving little time to explore. A full day is probably enough, which we intended to have but misjudged the time navigating the transportation. Driving through town was an adventure with the very narrow and steep streets. The restaurant was very traditional, and felt authentic. We would recommend a stop in this charming old town.

Monsaraz, more specifically the castle, is certainly a must...

Monsaraz, more specifically the castle, is certainly a must for anyone visiting Alentejo. The view is absolutely breathtaking, overseeing the Alqueva dam and the beautiful Alentejo. It's also quite rich in history, weaved into its quaint rocky streets and schist houses. Like its "big cousin" Marvão, the sunsets are particularly stunning. I know they aren't related, but they do feel similar ok? However, the citadel is not ideal for people with lower mobility or not ready to spend too much in the many tourist-focused restaurants. A couple hours should be enough for a tour, since it's not very big. The region itself do deserve some more time. Feel free to take a dip in Alqueva, do a hike in the countryside dotted by millennia old megalithic monuments or simply star gaze.

Have lunch at Xarez. The village is just beautiful. We visit to the Observatory was good too. The walk we attempted around the lake was slightly difficult as the paths were blocked presumably because of conservation issues.

If you enjoy tranquility and peace of mind then you cannot go wrong with this side of Alentejo. A little gem away from the coastal side, full of great bicycle rides, stargazing, delicious food and hospitable people

It's a beautiful area with different activities available. The village of Monsaraz is stunning, it has the Alqueva dam which is the largest artificial lake in Europe and Reguengos de Monsaraz is one of the best wine regions of Portugal.

The house and rooms were spacious and well-kept, with a traditional style. Breakfast has enough variety to keep you satisfied. The staff was always cheerful and lovely. There's a very nice swimming pool, especially useful in the heat of Alentejo. Last but not least, the property (and the room we stayed in) offers a great view of the castle town of Monsaraz. Guests were in general quiet and civilized, this is a great place for relaxing. You will need a car or some other private form of transport to move around the area.

The cottage is located just below the walls of Monsaraz village so very close, so ideal. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants in the village and especially Xarez was really good. It has everything you need and the owner allows dogs. It has a fantastic little terrace/balcony.

We had a villa in the adults only section, and it was very quiet. The villa was spacious and we enjoyed having a covered sitting area in the front of the villa. The rooftop pool with day beds was a great place for an afternoon snooze with a view of Monsaraz.
