Great place, well-located! We stayed for a night during our Rota Vicentina hike and this was a good choice. Our room was amazing, as well as the common space and the facilities. All is freshly renovated but with some old, authentic elements still in place so that gives a very comfortable atmosphere. Our host Claudia was so friendly, she provided us with an elaborate breakfast and we felt warmly welcomed. Would recommend!

On the hottest day 38C, we arrived early and Isabel kindly allowed us to check in early. Much appreciated. The accommodation was 💯 spotless!! As hikers we appreciated the kettle, fridge and washing line with pegs on the balcony.

The place is on a wilderness which is great. Close to the nature and also close to little village with some cafe places. Wi-fi works great. Great, helpful owner. In some comments there was an info about the short bed - the bed is completely normal, suitable for a 1,9m person ;)

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is pure wilderness, surrounded by nature, with breathtaking, unpolluted night skies full of stars. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. Al has amazing stories about wine and offers a great wine tasting experience, while Ana prepares delicious meals and is super helpful with tips on what to see in the area. The design of the place is stunning, the mattresses and bedding are top-notch, and everything feels truly first-class. It’s a unique spot, definitely worth visiting. We highly recommend it! The hospitality of Fina, Victor and their dochers, they are truly amazing! The location and tranquility. Good breakfast with own products like: wild honing, eggs, chees, fruit. We had couple of time delicious meals (authentic flavours) and very nice vno Verde for a very fair price From there we visited gorgeous beaches and towns, like Porto Covo, Vila Nova Milfones, etc. We will definitely come back!

I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly...

I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly or disabled but I do believe booking.com should clearly indicate when a facility is NOT suitable for us. The photos and description of Casa da Umbria were accurate but didn’t tell the whole truth. I can normally make it up the 13-15 stairs to reach a first floor walk-up especially if there’s a good handrail. I didn’t expect to have to climb steep cobblestone walkways followed by 34 steps without a handrail ending in a death-defying 90 degree spiral-type turn to get to the front door. Then there were all the other defects noted in my review. The hostess prepared a wonderful breakfast and helped us schedule a taxi and bus to our next destination but she became very defensive when I mentioned the stairs so I shut up and didn’t even try to suggest anything else. I can’t say anything for or against Odemira in general because I was essentially trapped in our room until we left.

The guesthouse is spacious, very clean, and well-decorated. The rooms are bright, and the bathroom is spotless. The breakfast is complete and beautifully presented. Claudia is lovely, always smiling, and responds quickly to messages. In Odemira, the walk along the river is also very charming.

Swimming pool was fantastic. Very quiet, rural location but only 5 mins drive from Odemira so easy to pick up supplies if required
