My recent stay at this property was, without question, the...
My recent stay at this property was, without question, the most infuriating and unacceptable experience I have ever endured in any accommodation. Over the course of four nights, my privacy was blatantly violated on multiple occasions. The managing couple entered our room without consent at least twice, with one particularly egregious incident where the hostess barged in despite knowing we were inside, even with the door closed. This was reported to Booking.com due to its severity. Their hospitality was nothing short of deplorable. The hosts constantly monitored our movements, especially in the kitchen, creating an oppressive atmosphere. They complained incessantly about our use of the coffee machine, which was supposedly freely accessible to all guests. The kitchen itself was woefully inadequate, lacking a microwave to heat food, and breakfast was rationed in a manner that felt insulting to paying guests. The hosts’ lack of respect extended to tampering with our personal belongings in the room during our absence, further eroding any sense of privacy or comfort. Their recommendations were utterly unreliable—following their advice about a nearby beach led us to an inaccessible location, resulting in unnecessary frustration. Even at check-out, the hosts displayed shocking rudeness, making no effort to engage with us and treating us with blatant disregard. This property represents the absolute worst of the hospitality industry. The hosts’ complete lack of professionalism, respect, and common decency made us feel like intruders rather than valued guests. I do not know much about the surrounding area, but the posada itself was great. You have history, a fantastic 360¤ view of Lisboa and Setubal. A historic castle, and as a bonus some small archeological excavations on display. Don't miss out on the small exhibition of old portugeese military communications, including a Heligraf. You can also find the very first LM Ericsson phone and switchboard made for export outside of Sweden. It is very poor in all terms.
It is very poor in all terms. Everything is very cheap and old, photos looks waaaaay better than things really are. Sink didn't flush the water, so it was always full of water, no shower gel, no toothpaste. Smells very bad inside the room and outside. Inner yard is awful, burned and never cutted grass, garbage on the ground, broken glass... In general it is uncomfortable motel, which doesn't cost 125€, max 50.Guest review byPavelPortugal - 10
Great bed and bedding.
Great bed and bedding. We had one dinner there, it was good but not exceptional, breakfasts were excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the beautiful sitting area. Enjoyed exploring the castle right there but walking into Palmela very steep so we did not explore the town much. The whole complex is faded glory, the golf course is overgrown with grass and weeds. The area around the apartments is poorly maintained with dried out plants because the irrigation system no longer works. Outside around the apartments it is a mess with crumple and dog poop in front of the door. It is clean in the apartments themselves, but many things do not seem to work or are incomplete (jamming doors, broken tap, inventory incomplete, shower water does not drain).
