Lots of great places to see, both on the river, (both north and south of the Douro in Porto and Gaia) and in the town. Uber taxi’s very reasonably priced and responsive making getting around the city, particularly up from the riverside to other parts of Porto helpful. Other people with us used Lime scooters to get around with great success. Enjoyed going up to the coast and eating out at a great restaurant there

I’m absolutely thrilled with my trip to Porto – and staying at Deuxmecs made it truly unforgettable! The city completely won me over with its charm: the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town, the colorful houses along the Douro River, and that unique mix of energy and laid-back vibes. After a day of exploring, coming back to Deuxmecs was pure bliss – the boutique hotel is beautifully designed, cozy, and full of thoughtful details. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, and it honestly felt like staying with friends. Porto’s beauty, spirit, and hospitality completely stole my heart – I can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful city, we could walk everywhere. Bulhao market is excellent, we had great fresh seafood there. Clean and safe city. Our visit to the Duoro Valley was excellent. And our day trip to Aveiro was good too.

I visited Porto toward the end of October, hoping for a bit of late summer sun, and for the first couple of days I couldn't have been more pleased, but unfortunately this was followed by several days of rain, which slightly spoiled the stay. On the plus side, Porto is a very attractive city, which lends itself to long gentle strolls interspersed with regular stops at the numerous bars, restaurants or coffee shops. As a city its very hilly, which for me, combined with the heat and humidity made getting about on foot quite tiring after the first couple of days, There are trams, funiculars and a metro system to help you get from A-B, but the Uber taxis are so cheap in Porto, that quickly became my preferred option if my legs were feeling tired or the weather was too wet. In terms of weather proof options, there are lots of museums and galleries, as well as historic buildings and parks, the central market and rivers side market, but there can be a lot of walking between them. That said, the Port Wine Makers tours are well worth a go, but can be a bit boozy. While the 1 hour river boat tours are good fun if a little bit short. The restaurants and bars are endless, and the food generally excellent both for quality and value for money. I would happily return to Porto another time to investigate more, but perhaps a little earlier in the season to be more sure of the weather.

Friendly staff, great location to stroll around the city center, offers a lot of services (restaurant, leaving luggage at a hotel desk). Despite the generally high humidity level in Portugal in winter, the room in Yotel was very warm and dry. Keep in mind that the shower/toilet are not located in a separate room, but separated from the bedroom by a frosted glass shield. Not a problem for us, but good to know.

An amazing little boutique hotel with beautifully appointed rooms in a central location. The hotel manager and host is the best host I had on My entire European trip, she was so helpful and it felt I was staying with friends or someone I know. This is more than a 10/10 experience.
