It's a nice apartment on the lower part of Prazeres. You will have a view on the sea and on some parts of the mountains. Lucky, there's a parking lot right next to the house and you only need 8 minute by foot to the next supermarket and pizza restaurant. The owner is very friendly and I was greeted with a clean apartment. There's a kitchen but it's only missing an oven. On the other hand, there are 2 big bedrooms, each with an own bathroom (shower and bathtubs). From there you reach Funchal within 45 minutes by car and the streets are in good condition. I made some hikes in the area and if you're not with a car, taxi (Bolt) there is no problem. Be careful about bus stops as I had trouble to find them. Overall I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to everyone who likes to have a quiet environment and a more rural experience. For a more organised daily life, a clothes rack at the entrance would be nice so I don't need to put my jacket away in the bedroom.

Very nice peaceful location with restaurants, a little shop and a good coffee place nearby. Parking spot available in front of the building, breakfast is delightful with fresh orange juice and bread and tasty jams & fruit. Spacious rooms with access to outside.

Very small village with no people so if you are looking for that, it’s perfect. We have the villa just for ourself so it was very big and we felt like in italian villa with a really big kitchen and terrace.

We loved our room overlooking the ocean ❤️ going to sleep to the sound of the waves. Great choice of breakfast & good quality . Staff in general were excellent. The beach bar is wonderful. Roof top gardens and infinity pools beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

The hotel in Jardim do Mar has apartments with fully equipped kitchens, more suitable for couples or families for 2 or more nights. The room I have is huge with two large beds, a large bathroom and of course the kitchen. The lady at reception is very helpful and friendly and there is also a dinner buffet (excluding drinks) for 20 euros, with a choice of chicken, meat and fish, plus salads and desserts. The location is perfect for those who like to hike. The place seems to have been around for a while, as you can see from the 80s? 90's? deco. There is a cottage-style common room with sofas and a small library. The beautiful footpath PR Vereda Prazeres to Paul do Mar (700m, 1.80km) is right on the hotel grounds and is a great way to visit the small fishing village of Paul do Mar. Unfortunately, the weather was at its worst when I was there, but of the few hours of sunshine I did get, the view from the balcony was simply stunning.

The room is really spacious and clean. The area is quite and the place is really close to the ocean. The staff is really friendly and, besides the breakfast, you can also have a drink/ something to eat in the rest of the day. The breakfast was very tasty. I really liked the fact that all the tables have on them images from Madeira (levada's, birds, mountain peaks) - this means attention to details from the owners.

Prazeres is a small village.

Prazeres is a small village. It does have a restaurant and a bar but that's about it - we did not hang out there much. You can do a levada walk that starts from Prazeres, which is nice, and close by (~15 min drive) are Calheta beach, Paul do Mar, and Jardim do Mar, which are tiny beach villages which have a couple of nice restaurants. The north coast and Funchal are at a 40 minutes drive. If you have a car, the location is nicely located; if you don't, I wouldn't choose this spot, because there isn't much to do in Prazeres itself.
