The privacy was perfect. We felt as though we had the place to ourselves. The pool was gorgeous and the grounds were very well maintained. Bed linen was very comfortable and of fine quality. The breakfasts were ideal and filled us for a few hours. Finally, the staff were friendly and gave you privacy. Very very nice stay.

Booked on short notice, no problems - the key was ready at our arrival! And what a view!!! High up on a mountain side overlooking the valley and ocean towards the east, making you setting the alarm clock early the next morning so you won't miss the sunrise! And the breakfast! Friendly and welcoming staff and eating as much as you can - nothing left to wish for! The host, Dieter, welcomed everyone personally at breakfast and we had a nice chat about this marvelous place.

We had a wonderful stay at this house! The place is very well equipped, there’s everything you might need for a comfortable stay: an oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and plenty of other modern appliances, both in the kitchen and living area. Having two bathrooms was also a great convenience. The location is perfect, close to everything, and surrounded by truly beautiful views. The host was extremely kind, always quick to respond and happy to help with any questions we had. Overall, we’re really impressed and very happy with our stay. Highly recommended! 🌴✨

We enjoyed our stay very much. The entire complex feels like paradise: the vegetation is amazing, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast very good and there are lots of spa options in case the wether is not so good. There is a restaurant with exceptional food or a kitchen wehere on can cook by onself. We also did a Levada hike, which was located close by. We would definetly come again! Thank you so much for the unforgettable time!

Great local place.

Great local place. I am very glad I have not spend the time in Funchal. From here I could explore the whole island and had my peace in the evening but with vibrant Sunday as all the locals come to town for their coffee and markets.

The nature and surroundings are just stunning.

The nature and surroundings are just stunning. It is so much to see around, people are so friendly and happy to help. Loved it, however could not do it without rental car. We hired large family car, however next time we would go for something smaller as roads are narrow and parking in the town could be challenging in the large car.

The villa is wonderful for those with a vehicle and ability/desire to drive up the mountain - we found this particularly fun. There a number of stairs so check which villa you get - some have just 4 stairs some have 150 but all very quiet, private and beautiful.

We used Ribeira Brava as a base for exploring walks in the west of Madeira using the local buses. It is a modern town in a narrow valley and lacks the charms of Funchal. However, it has a several eating places, shops and a small sheltered beach. It is a hub for a number of bus routes.

I only have positives information to share.

I only have positives information to share. There was a coffee bar a 5 minute walk from the hostel - D Luis Restaurante- delicious local feed- skewers on a Laurel stick with chunks of delicious local beef . Difficult to get around without a car. Next time I shall rent a car.

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive...

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive, it's not easy to get here. Bus information are lacking or are not very clear. Ribeira Brava is a quiet, cozy place, where you can have good restaurants, supermarket and can start nice trips from here.

It was the best holiday of my life so far, also because I stayed in such a luxurious house as Quinta do Cabouco. The lady of the house was very kind and attentive. There are only positive things to say about her. It was the best experience ever. The price-quality ratio is adequate. Believe me, you will not regret if you book a room at this hotel. There is convenient parking for a car. But since this is Madeira, then, of course, the smaller the car, the better.

Everything was perfect, hosts are very welcoming and make you feel more like in home than in a hotel. There is a very nice common area with fully equipped kitchen. What we really liked was beautiful swimming pool with heated water so we actually could go inside even in February. Second thing was a proper heating in the room which is not very common in Portugal and is very handy after rainy day in the mountains.

It's a very beautiful place. The rooms are located in a beautiful garden. There are many additional options, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna. The owner met us at the entrance and gave us a little tour, showing us everything in the hotel, and explained the rules to us. It's very good because we didn't have any questions during the stay.
