We had a wonderful stay at this house! The place is very well equipped, there’s everything you might need for a comfortable stay: an oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and plenty of other modern appliances, both in the kitchen and living area. Having two bathrooms was also a great convenience. The location is perfect, close to everything, and surrounded by truly beautiful views. The host was extremely kind, always quick to respond and happy to help with any questions we had. Overall, we’re really impressed and very happy with our stay. Highly recommended! 🌴✨

The whole experience was exceptional. We have booked many villas through Booking.com and this is one of the very best. The villa was exceptionally clean, immaculate in fact. The villa was equipped with everything that we needed. It even had heaters as our week was affected by a wild storm which led to most of the beaches being closed and there were high winds and cooler temperatures. It was easy to feel cosy and warm in the Banana Lovers villa. We were lucky that they were harvesting the bananas while we were there. Fascinating to watch. The villa had easy access and we were straight onto the main road to Funchal in 5 mins even though it was quiet and secluded on the banana farm. Very easy to find the entrance to the villa! Probably the best part of the entire experience was our hostess Ana. She was so kind and attended to every detail, and was on her phone to my questions day and night. Due to the storm, we were constantly asking which roads were safe and when you could venture into the higher passes. Ana could access all the social media websites and find answers to everything. She advised us where to shop, where to fill up the car, what are the best cuisine dishes to look out for depending on where we were going on the island. Basically she knows everything about Madeira and she adores her culture. This was a treat and we had the best holiday on Madeira thanks to this package of a beautiful villa and an exceptional hostess.

Great local place.

Great local place. I am very glad I have not spend the time in Funchal. From here I could explore the whole island and had my peace in the evening but with vibrant Sunday as all the locals come to town for their coffee and markets.

The nature and surroundings are just stunning.

The nature and surroundings are just stunning. It is so much to see around, people are so friendly and happy to help. Loved it, however could not do it without rental car. We hired large family car, however next time we would go for something smaller as roads are narrow and parking in the town could be challenging in the large car.

The villa is wonderful for those with a vehicle and ability/desire to drive up the mountain - we found this particularly fun. There a number of stairs so check which villa you get - some have just 4 stairs some have 150 but all very quiet, private and beautiful.

We used Ribeira Brava as a base for exploring walks in the west of Madeira using the local buses. It is a modern town in a narrow valley and lacks the charms of Funchal. However, it has a several eating places, shops and a small sheltered beach. It is a hub for a number of bus routes.

I only have positives information to share.

I only have positives information to share. There was a coffee bar a 5 minute walk from the hostel - D Luis Restaurante- delicious local feed- skewers on a Laurel stick with chunks of delicious local beef . Difficult to get around without a car. Next time I shall rent a car.

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive...

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive, it's not easy to get here. Bus information are lacking or are not very clear. Ribeira Brava is a quiet, cozy place, where you can have good restaurants, supermarket and can start nice trips from here.

This small hotel is located in a very beautiful place between the mountains. The sound from the Levada Novo is very calming. There is a beautiful garden, well taken care off. The rooms are nice, very good size and clean. Mr. Danilo who runs the place is very nice and he cares about it. The breakfast was nice with eggs, bread, cheese, cereals and fruits, every morning Carmen or Mr. Danilo was ready to prepare the breakfast and eggs. We had a wonderful week and we absolutely love this place.

I loved this boutique hotel, the room has all what was needed, bed was comfortable, shower was clean, they clean my room everyday. I lived the jacuzzi, swimming pool and the sauna, what a joy after long day walks! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I love the bananas! Def would recommend and go back. Is away from the touristic areas, perfecto. There are buses near the accommodation which is ideal,but super unreliable, so bare that in mind.

Trustworthy Host, pick up & drop off from Madeira Aeroporto, good price😊Ask for car & offroad drive! & maybe even great tips for viewpoints... Ribeira Brava has quite good beaches 😊 Your bedroom is aprox half hour from the Aeroporto by car.
