Homely and very well equipped little house. Literally 10 mins drive from the airport, but in a very quiet and pretty little village. Sea views from the front of the house, and Pico mountain between the trees at the back! The house has everything you need, even dressing gowns provided, which was a lovely treat! The owner was very quick to respond to questions, and it was lovely to read the info about the family history of the house. We were even allowed to pick and eat a pineapple from the garden!

Really high spec hostel. Immaculate. Excellent facilities. With lots of nice touches, a herb garden, nice books, flowers in reception, there were two toilets in the dorm room. It’s been really well thought out and designed. João and the family really care and want guests to have the best stay. Being welcomed and cared for is such a lovely feeling.

We loved everything about this place! The location was excellent, right in the heart of the wine country, surrounded by vineyards with views of Pico Mountain on one side and the sea on the other – what more could you ask for? The bungalow itself was built in a traditional style of the region and was so comfortable inside. We were made to feel so welcome by the owner, who was passionate about his land, the island and the delicious food basket he had prepared for us. We were also presented with a bottle of wine from the vineyard that surrounded us – the wine was so good and perfectly represented the region.

Very nice and quiet "little village" of lava stone houses with nice view on the Pico mountain. Houses are very spacious, very clean and well equipped. Very well maintained, and very friendly guest service. Excellent value for money!

The apartment has everything you need, it was clean, the kitchen is well equipped and the view from the balcony is great! The parking is on the rode besides the building. The owner is very responsive.

The host was incredible, she made sure that we had a nice stay and told us where we could go. In the apartment itself there are plenty of guide books and maps. We also were welcomed by homemade jam, and fruits from the garden, which was incredibly nice.

I am rating PICO, not Santa Luzia.

I am rating PICO, not Santa Luzia. Santa Luzia is a small village and good startpoint, close to airport. If you want to go walking to the top of Pico, take walking shoos with you. Otherwise you are not allowed to do the walking. We recommend to visit Cella Bar Restaurant in Madalena. Nice view, nice food and a place to take a bath. Santa Luzia is a small place. To get around of the Pico island you need the car. The children liked the baths in the hot tubes.

Close to the island's best attractions.

Close to the island's best attractions. A car is essential for exploring the island as there isn't much public transport. Near Lajido, one of the most picturesque, perhaps the most original (in my opinion) places on the island.

Santa Luzia is located near Madalena, where you'll find good...

Santa Luzia is located near Madalena, where you'll find good restaurants, and close to the airport. It's easy to get there by car or taxi. I should have rented a car when booking the trip; we took a risk and were without a car for a day. But there were taxis available.
