The hotel was in the quiet green hills. Upon arrival we heard that there would be a big group of teenage kids and for that reason we got an upgrade to the deluxe room, which was huge. We were not bothered by the kids at all and we enjoyed everything: the pool, the sauna, the restaurant. Great quality food, we decided to have several dinners there, the personnel was very friendly and available. Would recommend!

We stayed for 6 nights which was a night or two more than required. Tavira is an interesting town and we enjoyed a Fado performance in one of the beautiful churches. It has a wide choice of good eateries and trips are available to local attractions like the island. However, we were glad we took the option of taking the train to Faro for one day and to the crossingbto Spain on a small ferry on another day. Tavira is close to Spain.The ferry port in Portugal is an attractive town as is its couterpart onthe Spanish side.

End of October/beginning of November and the sun came out. A lovely place to stroll around. We only stayed 2 nights, and there was still more to discover. A wide choice of restaurants, a theatre that had ballet while we were there, Fado concerts, classical concerts. We loved the Misericordia church, where there were panels of tiles illustrating what the Misericordia charity is all about, and interesting information in Portuguese and English. We hadn't planned to go on the ferry to the Ilha de Tavira, but it was lovely and warm, the ferry fare was really good value and so we got on the ferry and off we went. Views of flamingos on the way (take your binoculars, if you have them). Lovely walk on the island, from the landing stage to the beach. I wish I had taken my swimming costume! Lots of different restaurants to choose from. We had excellent meals at Canalha Tavira and Restaurante Gilão. The pork in red grape sauce at Galão was utterly delicious and there were several other things on the menu I would have liked to try, too!

I really enjoyed the architecture and the layout of the town everywhere was in walking distance...there was live music in the square at the weekends and craft stalls... We found lots of nice restaurants off the centre of town . Despite the volume of people I felt very safe walking the streets. getting a boat over to the beach was fun

Loved the restaurants.

Loved the restaurants. There are too many to list them all but Artefact and O Castello, although very different, are two of my favourites. Always enjoy the ferry ride to Ilsa Tavira. And when you get there the beach is very good. If you want something slightly different try the Camera Obscura.

Cultural, lively but somehow very, very relaxed and easy going. Chilled. Great range of restaurants and coffee bars all at very reasonable prices. Very welcoming wherever you go. (Lots of British, German and French seem to live all year round in Tavira.)

Tavira is a beautiful city, with lovely historic buildings, fun restaurants, and interesting places to visit nearby. We loved Barril Beach and the Cascata do Pego do Inferno (a waterfall about 15 minutes north of the city).

Amazing property! The staff are local people fro Tavira with a beautiful passion for their hometown. They shared tipps for restaurants and activities to do with us and were super helpful all the time. The rooms are beautiful with nice little details. The house is right next to the castle with a beautiful terrace as well. And the highlight for us was the breakfast buffet with homemade food every food (the best breakfast we’ve had so far in a hotel or vacation property)! We would 100% recommend this place 🙌

We found a place that was just like home,with beautiful views. Loved it was close to all the amenities and 5mins by car to the centre of tavira. Facilities in the apartment were well thoughtful, the gardens well kept and the swimming pool great for the hot days we spent there. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful with local information, I wish we could have spent more time there. If visiting Portugal and tavira, it is a great base for exploring the beaches and the town.

Amazing breakfast, made and prepared with love and you can feel it! Ana and her team are really great and make us feel welcome and at home! I loved the home made different breads, the vegan cheese, marmeladess, all the great options for vegan and vegetarians, salads and papaia fruit from the forest food of the hotel! The breakfast there was the best meals we hat in Tavira! we were always looking forward to have it! The plants that surround the hotel are stunning too!

We really enjoyed our time here. Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. All very tranquil with a lovely ambiance. Only a short walk into town where there are quite a few bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were very friendly. The room was great too. Tavira is well worth a visit if you’re visiting the Algarve.
