Our stay at Casa da escola was a fantastic surprise. We went in with no expectations and came out feeling completely relaxed and well treated. The facilities and rooms are all recent and well taken cared of, the scenery is out of a movie scene and the peaceful feeling was priceless. Not to mention the hosts that were truly exceptional and kind people. We can’t wait to go back to Casa da Escola.

Huge house in amazing surroundings. We had the whole place for ourselves, and had plenty of opportunities for both relaxing and doing sports on the playground. We played tennis, football, basketball etc. In connections with the pool we also used the bar facilities.

We enjoyed the village and the people.

We enjoyed the village and the people. There are some local shops; a wine and crafts shop worth visiting: Cabaz dos Sabores, with a top-notch host. A restaurant not to be missed: O Meu Menino; great service, great homemade food and excellent value. We will return to Vouzela.

Vouzela is small but very welcoming.

Vouzela is small but very welcoming. It has beautiful architecture, with incredible bridges, trails, a river, and vegetation. It's worth visiting and getting lost in discovering its charms. Don't miss a visit to Nossa Senhora do Castelo (Our Lady of the Castle), and the pastry shops, with the famous Vouzela pastries – a delight!

I'm already a regular visitor to Vouzela and the surrounding...

I'm already a regular visitor to Vouzela and the surrounding area. I love the scenery, the hikes (this time in the rain), the food, the Vouzela pastries. And the thermal baths of São Pedro do Sul are a must-see whenever I go to Vouzela. In the summer, discovering the river beaches and waterfalls makes it a place in Portugal with so much to do.

A beautiful, peaceful city with plenty of local shops and a very pretty riverside area. From there, you can easily reach several points of interest for those who enjoy nature, for hiking or swimming in a river, such as the Serra do Caramulo, Serra da Freita, and Serra da Arada mountain ranges.
