Very kind host, he helped us with a ride back to the property when we took a long hike. Very clean, confortabile stay with lots of amenities. Host gave us so many great recommendations and the area is very quiet and peaful.

We visited Balvanyos to spend a few quiet, relaxing days...

We visited Balvanyos to spend a few quiet, relaxing days together, and we were truly impressed by one of the most complete SPA facilities we've encountered in Romania. The Forest restaurant exceeded our expectations, offering a refined culinary experience. Our room was clean and charming, though it had one drawback — the lack of air conditioning. Although the fan-coil unit had a cooling option, it didn’t function properly and merely circulated air. The staff deserves top marks, consistently warm and attentive. Unfortunately, some guests did not match the atmosphere of the resort. Children entered areas reserved for adults, some individuals were seen vaping or using electronic cigarettes, and a few overly exuberant young women created a vibe that felt out of place in a space meant for peace and rejuvenation — causing me, at times, to cut my SPA visits shorter than I would have liked.

Location is amazing, in the middle of the nature, quiet, clean, with everything you need. Reception staff at check-in was bored, did not smile or welcome us at the property. We needed to ask multiple questions to find out basic information (breakfast time, SPA schedule, etc) all which should have been provided without asking. Breakfast options are very diverse Restaurant food is really delicious. SPA can get really crowded and loud / noisy.

After reading a lot of negative reviews about this resort we came there with low expectations. As it turned out it was much better than expected! The rooms were right for 4 stars standard, not too big but new and nice. The spa center is just great, one of the best ones I have seen in Romania, also our 4 years old boy enjoyed it. The highlights are a shower with snow and the exterior sauna with a wood/stone oven. The restaurant (Forest) was very nice and the waiters very friendly. Also the breakfast was above our expectations with amazing coffee. The only negative thing to mention was a hamburger that we had for dinner which was one of the worst I have ever eaten. The rest of the food was good and not expensive for a 4 stars hotel. We will come again as the hotel, spa center and location are exceptional, but not for the standard price because that one is definitely too high. From time to time the hotel offers some discounted prices for weekends, then it's worth it to pay around 300 EUR for a double room for 2 nights with breakfast and access to the spa.

Someone from the management of the location decided on my...

Someone from the management of the location decided on my money and my confort where I should stay during my vacation there. Even if I paid with one month before for a Vila Panorama room with terrace and view, when we arrived, at the checkin, we were told there are some problems with what we’ve booked and we received a standard room with no view and no terrace. I asked for them and I was told they are fully booked. Also they said i will received a discount and the discount was in fact the difference paid for the innitial room. I also went during my stay there to see if indeed there were issues witj that villa, however the parking was full and a lot of clients were accomodated there. I decided not to let this trouble my vacantion and enjoy my stay focusing on the positive aspect, however I was very dissapointed on the way they treat this. Beaides this aspect, the rest was ok, as we decided to focus on the positive aspects.

The thing we did not liked was that in the restaurant, they give you some bread with a table spoon of butter which they tell you it's from the house, but at the end you will find it charged to you on the bill. Also, there's a service charge on the bill, which is never the same.

Balvanyos is a great place for those who want to have a trip...

Balvanyos is a great place for those who want to have a trip back to nature. The road goes through a forest and along the way you can find many great places where you can stop, take photos, enjoy natural springs from which you can drink. The place is home to a Sulphur cave called Budos Barlang where you can hike to, or you can visit a volcanic lake in the area called Szent Anna, where in winter time you can rent slides and slide down the road and have a great time. There are many restaurants to choose from depending on your budget. You can try local food at Istvana restaurant or have a fine dining experience at the Fork restaurant, it's up to you. If you are lucky you can spot the two bears that usually stand by the road and wait for the tourists to give them a treat.

The resort is wonderful, with stunning views. We had a room in Grand Hotel. In our room there was a coffee maschine with pods and a free bottle of water. The pillows were perfect, soft and slim. We liked the fact that the acces to the spa in unlimited and that we had free parking. We ate at the Forest restaurant and the waiter Mihaly treat us very well. Also the food was stunning.

Our stay at Balvanyos had some enjoyable moments. The breakfast was a delightful spread with plenty of choices, and we fully savored it. The room, while good, could benefit from cleaner carpets. Additionally, the dinner experience was pleasant, even though both dishes were different from our expectations.
