I highly recommend spending time at the Roman excavations and the museum, where a talented archaeologist led us on a truly fascinating tour! The town is walkable, and the excavations are located right at the entrance to the town.

I had perhaps too high expectations from the site.

I had perhaps too high expectations from the site. It is not properly arranged, without pertinent information about the construction or other important historical data. Although theoretically the entrance is made through a gate, the exit is made ... surprise ... on a small street ... without a gate, without a fence, without a guard. Quite sad

All the tourist attractions in the area are wonderful and I...

All the tourist attractions in the area are wonderful and I recommend visiting them. At Sarmisegetusa Ulpia there is a guide option, an option that I recommend because the whole visit will be completely different and loaded with a lot of history! We had accommodation and meals at the Sarmis guesthouse, and in 2 days we managed to cover 6 tourist attractions!

The quiet, rural and relaxed atmosphere was wonderful. I was warmly welcomed - and even though I arrived a day early, the caravan was available and bedding prepared. The host was really friendly and easy to approach. I would really recommend Camping Zamolxe, if I someone was looking for a place to stay in Sarmizegetusa.

Location was perfect! It was within walking distance of the Roman Ruins of Sarmizegetusa and also within walking distance of a very good restaurant. The room was very clean and the hostess is a lovely person. Breakfast was ample and included eggs made to order and homemade spreads for toast or bread.
