We drove to Ruhondo from Kigali for a weekend in mid-May. We took a wrong turn on the way, and our hosts at the retreat were so helpful directing us in. That level of superb hospitality continued throughout our entire visit. It’s a short boat ride to the island, but the retreat feels like a faraway paradise. You are immersed in the natural beauty of the island, surrounded by lush vegetation and peaceful blue waters. We loved exploring the island and taking a boat tour of the lake. I received an excellent massage in a lovely outdoor setting by the water. My favorite activity was relaxing on the terrace, snacking on warm peanuts and enjoying magnificent views of volcanic peaks in the distance. This is the perfect place to take morning coffee, read a book, or chat with other guests and our lovely hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and our cabin was clean and comfortable. We slept deeply at night. Our only regret was not staying a few extra dayss!

Wonderful location of extraordinary property managed by very keen and helpful personnel. Great service, tasty food, many birds around. We were granted better, deluxe house (we appreciate so much). One advice: remember not to drive to lodge location as I did in the middle of the night, due to very poor road condition, leave your car on the opposite shore, secured parking belongs to hotel, they also provide free ferry to the place you will stay. I highly recommend the lodge as a perfect place for rest among nature, far from any noise.

William the manager speaks english and french. He is very reactive and helpful. The food was nice but above the place whre the lodge stands is perfect. On the lake shore with a sublime view on the volcanos for the sunset and the sunrise. A small piece of paradise. Highly recommended!

We loved everything starting from our arrival. The price was very affordable for the service provided to us. The host was always there and smiling. The apartment and the area was spotlessly clean. The finishing of the home is top-notch. The breakfast was very satisfying and adequate. We could also use the washing machine, and there was always staff to help us. The terrace has a beautiful view. A special mention to the details in furnishing the home, it's really spotless.

I absolutely loved this place. Felt like home away from home. The place was quiet and spotless. Patience, the owner was very communicative, helpful and extremely friendly. There was also a kitchen to use and Patience can also prepare for you very nice meals for affordable price. Drinking water was also provided. Only 10-12 minutes walk to the centre, bus terminals, supermarkets.
