Returning after a gap of nearly six years and we were not disappointed. Fabulous suite…. One of the best we have ever stayed in. Staff were excellent, especially the main chap at the front desk…. great customer service and spoke what appeared to be about 20 languages! Wonderful setting next to the caves…. Very peaceful and calming - a great place to recharge. The caves were even more awe inspiring than they were before - truly magnificent and so well organised. Our guide was brilliant - obviously loved his job and knew a lot!

Room and service was ok. Breakfast was very great - you have different choices, food very good and enought, some local things to eat. When we travel for some years, it was our best breakfest that we spot in hotel. Room and private bathroom clean. Free parking spot. 5 min walk to bars and restaurant and to playground for children.

There are so many things to see here.

There are so many things to see here. You can get anywhere in Slovenia - from the sea to Piran, the caves are at every step, you can get to Bled and the surrounding area within an hour and a half. To see everything, one visit is not enough. We were here for the second time and I think we still have something to see on our next two future visits to Slovenia.

Planina is a small village that is ideal for those seeking...

Planina is a small village that is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and who have their own car, serving as a retreat and a starting point for day trips. Due to its location in the valley and by the river, it is often foggy in the mornings and evenings, depending on the season. The village has only one small grocery store, but there are plenty of shopping options 7 km away.

The surroundings are beautiful and have their own unique charm. However, the weather is very unpredictable. It's not recommended without a car. The many caves and nature parks were fantastic, and the trip to the coast was worthwhile. All in all, a great area for hikers and cave explorers.

If you're looking for a vibrant nightlife, this isn't the place for you. Aside from a bakery, there are no shops. The village is a small, linear settlement. However, it's wonderfully peaceful, and the motorway access is still excellent.

Amazing cave and a medieval tower. 20 minutes by car to the Pojstona Caves. 30 minutes to the cave castle. Between the cave and the castle there's a small restaurant with good, affordable food.
