For the fact that it was our emergency choice for 2 extra nights, we discovered the best hotel for our backpacking family in terms of price, location, and performance. We were able to shower in a clean bathroom that had good water pressure and both hot and cold water. :) The room was nicely equipped, and a big benefit was a form of breakfast refreshment, which was not mentioned anywhere when booking the stay, but it really helped us kick-start the day. At the same time, the hotel includes access to a pool in the neighboring building, which already meets the criteria of a small swimming pool — truly a great benefit. The hotel is located on a pleasant beach with white sand.

We got the phangan pearl and they were renovating the rooms we were asked to walk 2 mins away to Neptunes villas and they were unreal! Sea and pool view, the rooms were clean beds were comfy shower was nice and clean with a shower curtain, the staff were super friendly and we were still able to use the gym facilities and the phangan pearl as neptunes didn’t have any so really lovely experience

We really enjoyed our stay at Rin Bay View. First of all, the staff is exceptional. They treat each guest extremely friendly. The room is clean, and the breakfasts are AMAZING, the pool has a nice view, especially at sunset. The hotel is located at Haad Rin beach, not far from the Full moon party location, but at the same time has it its own access to a beach which is on the other side, and this beach is much cleaner in comparison with Haad Rin.

The owner and the staff are just amazing! I felt so comfortable and welcomed. They made everything they could to help me and made me enjoy even more my travel. The room had a very nice area and it was very clean. Also cheap and fair price compared to other places and for being in a very touristic place. I doubt there is a better hostel to spend your time where you will have lots of fun and also feel like home. When I come back to Haad Rin I would love to stay here again. I will never forget them. Thank you so much <3

Haad Rin is a beautiful beach with plenty of bars and...

Haad Rin is a beautiful beach with plenty of bars and restaurants lining the shore and lots of shops, restaurants around the strip. During Full Moon week, the atmosphere gets wild—every venue competes with fire shows and loud music, creating a chaotic but energetic vibe. I imagine the off-season must be much more relaxing, though I haven’t experienced it myself. Personally, I found the Full Moon Party a bit disappointing, though that might be due to my expectations. I'm 40+, and I was hoping for a more organized event with better music and a diverse crowd—people of all ages from different parts of the world. Instead, it felt more like a chaotic gathering of mostly very young partygoers (early 20s), primarily from England, Germany, and Denmark, whose main focus seemed to be drinking and drugs. In November 2025, the original party was canceled due to the passing of the King’s mother, so I can’t speak to the usual experience.

Not the nicest part of island.

Not the nicest part of island. Geared towards full moon party, laughing gas and fire shows. Quiet when not full moon in a nice way but the town is run down. Haad Rin beach is beautiful though. Saw quite a few families which was nice. Rented our bike from here and explored the island for a few days. Road between Haad Rin and Thong Sala and everywhere else on the East/West of the island is very steep hills to ride by bike.

I was expecting Haad Rin to be more crowded, dirty, and over...

I was expecting Haad Rin to be more crowded, dirty, and over touristy. But it wasn't! Yes, there are plenty of shops and bars and the streets are a little lively, but the beach itself is spacious, clean, and so relaxing. We aren't partiers and we had a fantastic stay in this area.

In my opinion, Had Rin is not suitable for families at all, but only for young people who like to lie on the beach most of the day and wait for the full moon parties. The best beaches are: Koh Ma Beach, Secret Beach, Malibu Beach Those who want a luxurious treat should go to the Anantara Rasananda at the northern end of Copenhagen.

The beach was lovely & was cleaned every morning.

The beach was lovely & was cleaned every morning. The sea was warm & crystal clear. There were bars & restaurants on the beach & a nightly fire show. Also many little walkways from the beach leading to more bars, restaurants, shops & places to book travel/trips

very nice hotel, we liked everything! great location directly at the beach and near the full moon party, great pool with good music, perfectly clean rooms and facilities. the hotel gym is also good. breakfast and food is delicious. the staff is very very friendly. we had a small issue with the AC in the room, but got offered another room directly and the manager even offered us one night for free. we stayed two days longer than planned. can only recommend Explorar!

Good location, near 2 beaches, hotel staff were friendly and nice, nice room (we had a bungalow) with a fridge and good air con. Friendly cats around and a bird in a cage. Swimming pool, food, and drinks at the hotel were good. The owner helped us to get a taxi to the ferry port, and gave us room service. Great location for full moon party.
