We visited in early December and it was still pretty quiet.
We visited in early December and it was still pretty quiet. Beautiful beach and snorkelling. Trip to emerald cave was brilliant! We booked our tour and speedboat through the lady just outside of Koh Ngai KaimukThong Resort and she was brilliant! The resort staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was good and cheap compared to other restaurants (though they were also great, just a bit more $).

This is a very quiet island where you come to relax, walk...
This is a very quiet island where you come to relax, walk along the beach, and swim. There are no noisy bars, just long lazy days and relaxed nights under the stars.
The south end of the beach is the best sand, but you can walk from one end of the beach to the other in only 30 minutes. The sea is deliciously warm!
There is another beach called Paradise Beach, if you are bored of relaxing. It is over the hill and through the jubngle for about 20 minutes - but use lots of mosquito repellant!

Beautiful beach location which was still really quiet post COVID. Not many other options on the island for food/drinks but the hotel food was nice, although a bit limited for those in the party not so in to Thai food. Staff were lovely throughout our stay and the whole place had a great vibe that made for a perfect spot to spend a few quiet days off the beaten track. Beach a little rocky in the shallows and weather was a bit mixed during our visit but when the wind dropped the snorkelling along the drop off 50m from the beach was fantastic!

Amazing shallow beach with clear water.
Amazing shallow beach with clear water. A reef that is right off the island. Great views of nearby islands. Easy to rent a boat and visit other islands in the area. Calm waters make it easy to kayak and swim.
There are no roads, just the beach. There are only a few hotels and so it limits the number of people on the island. Makes for a relaxing time.

Beautiful beach, great snorkelling just off beach where shelf drops. Few guests lead to peace but not much atmosphere in the evening. Ferry stops but have to transfer into long tail to reach shore. Definitely a lovely 2/3 night stop

Ko N'gai is small and extremely quiet.
Ko N'gai is small and extremely quiet. Perfect to get away from everything. Jungle and sea is some of the best I have seen after 30 years visiting Thailand. Simply beautiful.
Thapwarin is the better of all the resorts, but the restaurant needs to be vastly improved.

The location is fantastic and it can justify some of the downsides of the hotel.
We had the family room which looks a little dated but was renovated and cleaned daily. There was a living area downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs.
Great, calm beach with loungers. Not crowded even in high season.
If you have a return speedboat booked, you'll be informed about the pick-up time at check-in.

Stunning location on the quiet main Ko Ngai beach. All to yourselves once the day trippers have left! Nice hammocks by the huts to relax in.
Helpful staff who organised our outbound transfer and provided new bottles of water every day.

Perfectly located at most beautiful Thai beach. Very comfortable bungalows, friedly staff, very good food at local restaurants. Great snorekling conditions just in front of the hotel. One of our favorite spots in Thailand!

Fantastic stay! The hotel offered great value for money – the accommodation was excellent for the price. The pool was nice and the breakfast was very good as well. Everything met our expectations!
