The Location was perfect. It’s off of the main road tucked behind some shops and about 20 meters from a food night market. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. We stayed 1 night. The bed was very hard but the pillows were soft which counterbalanced it a little. We slept well regardless.

Nan is an interesting town...

Nan is an interesting town... There are lots of temples and history from when it was a kingdom. I was visiting during the low season, but during my 10-day visit, I could see something every day. But you must realize that this is not a holiday site where you can enjoy daily fun and entertainment.

My first trip to Nan and in fact Thailand.

My first trip to Nan and in fact Thailand. Absolutely incredible experience. Obvious areas were food, scenery in particular the mountain scenes. The people of Nan were welcoming and very hospitable indeed...and came across as very genuine. The culture and temples were amazing...visited many temples in Nan and also in Chiang Rai.. Amazing country and Nan is an area I will return to visit again.

A beautiful, quiet small town, with very interesting temples...

A beautiful, quiet small town, with very interesting temples (wats) at its heart, a national museum, an interesting museum in an old teak house, and an attractive surrounding area. Much of the town center can be explored on foot or by bicycle; otherwise, a motorized vehicle is highly recommended. Good restaurants and a daily evening food market will satisfy your hunger.

Nan is a pleasant city where few Westerners venture out.

Nan is a pleasant city where few Westerners venture out. Everywhere you go, you'll hear "Falang," the word for Westerner. You'll stand out, but you certainly won't be bothered. The city has many beautiful temples and is definitely worth a visit. Just make sure you have transportation. We had a car with a driver. There's a nice evening market (only on weekends, if I'm not mistaken).

It's a peaceful city for a truly slow life. No rushing, simple and conservative. Areas that are developing or growing, such as Saphan, should be managed well. There's no need to focus on building too much. Focus on quality rather than quantity.

What a lovely hostel, right next to the bus terminal (2min walk). I stayed in the female dormroom. The room and female bathroom were clean. Lockers and towel were provided. The owner and staff were so kind and helpful. There are also two sweet cats wandering in the hostel. It's a quiet and laidback hostel. It has a kitchen with things to prepare your (free) breakfast. The free bikes were a big plus! But even without a bike, it's very easy and a short walk (10-15min) to the 'center' of Nan (Wat Phumin temple and night market).

A lovely peaceful complex adjacent to a beautiful lake. Rooms are quite large with a separate seating area and a beautifully clean and modern bathroom. Hotel is set about a 5 min drive from the central area of town, but I knew this beforehand and it suited me. Has attached coffee shop that looks across to the lake and is such a lovely space to sit and relax. Parking is undercover and directly attached to each room for convenience. Breakfast choices and quality were good considering it is a small boutique hotel.
