There really isn't much there to see as a tourist. The city is not pretty or anything special. We were at Sukhothai and decided to travel here to extend our mini vacation. Phitsanulok is really off the beaten tourist track and therefore unsuitable for those for the first time in Thailand. There are two main, good attractions, being Chan Royal Palace ruins and Sgt. Maj. Thawee's folk Museum. Good for one day in total. Phitsanulok therefore is a perfect example why forced spreading of (mass) tourism will not ever work, it lacks too much of what the general tourist would appeal (enough attractions, lively entertainment, quality accommodation and good (public) transport).Guest review bySanderEhvNetherlands - 10.0

Phitsnaulok a small city in north central Thailand which once was the capital for a short period. The hotel I stay in was with in walking distance ie 20 minutes of the main historical sites.
