We recently had the pleasure of staying at AGON Ephesus Hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience! The hotel itself is fantastic, featuring a new design that maintains an authentic, charming feel. Our room was spotless, air-conditioned, and very comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. What truly set this hotel apart was the hospitality. Serhat, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was always smiling and incredibly helpful, taking the time to guide us on the best things to do and see in Selçuk, which added a personal touch to our trip. The breakfast was amazing — one of the best we’ve had, with a great variety that started our days off perfectly. And we were greeted by their lovely cat, Güllaç, who added a delightful and warm touch to our stay. If you're visiting Selçuk, I highly recommend staying at AGON Ephesus Hotel for its exceptional service, welcoming atmosphere, and wonderful amenities.

The location of this hôtel was perfect. Most sites were within walking distance. We were lucky enough to expérience it out of season (February) and our Host couldn't have been more helpful. She was unbelievably sweet, kind and helpful, giving us advice of where to go and how to get there. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

Everything was the best in the hotel. We were upgraded to Livia Garden Hotel, which was very grateful. The two owners are handsome and very very hospitable. They seemed to worry they couldn’t give us more. The rooms are very stylish and cosy. The garden is well-maintained and beautiful. Although we didn’t use the swimming pool, it just looked very inviting. Last but not the least, the breakfast is too good to be true. It was served by the pool, which was very enjoyable. It was my first time eating traditional Turkish breakfast and I am totally amazed at the wonderful taste and quality. You must come to experience this hotel yourself. You won’t regret it.

Great location - a 5 minute walk from the railway station and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. The hotel is a nice, spacious and clean property. The rooms are big and airy, there’s a small pool And bar and the restaurant has a lavish breakfast spread with fresh fruits and good lunch and dinner options. The staff were extremely polite and spoke a number of languages, including English. It’s not a fancy modern hotel but is perfect if you’re looking for a nice getaway

This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!!

This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!! But lots more in the area. Allow a day for the castle , a day for village(/s), a day for Ephesus. Unfortunately the Ephesus entry now includes what was once a 15 Euro charge for the "Ephesus Experience". So price up from 25 to 40. Sadly the "Experience" seemed inappropriate- high tech visuals to show storm waves somehow closing off the harbour (it gradually silted up over the centuries... ). Giant Mark Anthony and Cleopatra on separate chariots in the main street... interesting computer graphics, but not something I would voluntarily pay for. And I don't really buy the idea that the Godess Artemis is really watching over the town to this very day. Selcuk doesn't need this.

Selçuk is a pleasant and welcoming small town with a surprising number of historic gems. It’s easy to explore, offers plenty of places to eat, and many locals speak enough English to make ordering food or shopping very comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the town feels like a natural gateway into the ancient world of Ephesus. As a solo female traveler, however, I did experience a few moments that made me feel uncomfortable. During an evening walk, I was stared at in a way that felt overly intense, and in some cases men called after me with “Madam.” While nothing threatening happened, this kind of behavior can make a woman feel uneasy, especially when traveling alone. It would be wonderful if the city could consider a small awareness campaign about respectful behavior toward tourists from different cultures. Selçuk has so much beauty and charm to offer — a bit of cultural sensitivity would make it an even more exceptional destination for everyone.

Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience.

Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience. Not touristy at all. Accommodation options are sparse. But the location is very convenience to Ephesus and Sirince Village and saves over an hour going to Pamukkale (instead of from Izmir). It is also a short, convenient 1.5 hr train ride to Izmir.

The place was great as the location was close to everything...

The place was great as the location was close to everything like going to Ephesus, The Basillica of John, restaurants, the House of Virgin Mary, etc. The place also felt safe walking around at night. Transport was easily accessible as well. Overall, Selcuk is great tourist place.

Very nice and pleasant town for a visit to Ephesus and other interesting places like the cathedral of St. John and the Isa Bey Mosque. There are also very good Turkish food restaurants like Selcuk Koftecisi.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind. He drove us around all the sights including Ephesus Ruins, St John Basilica, Virgin Mary’s House and Artemis Monument, all in one day. Only down side is we had to pay cash since they don’t accept credit card. One needs a form of transportation since it is not walking distance. Be prepared in the heat with umbrella, hat, sunscreen, handheld fan and water.

Everything! The room was perfect, and decoration was superb making you feel relaxed. the bed was super comfortable. Common areas, breakfast and free cake and coffee all day is very appreciated (and awesome!)- All employees super nice and trying to make you feel comfortable. Location very convenient to visit Efesos and Artemisa and very nice restaurants close to the hotel. Definitely the hotel we like the most during our trip in Turkey

We really enjoyed our time at the Ibri Hotel. We were well welcomed by Nina, who took good care of us and recommended restaurants and places to visit in Selcuk and the surroundings. The hotel is beautiful and uniquely decorated. Our room was very confortable and well equipped, even if it can be a little warm in the mezzanine (we were there in August). The breakfast cooked by Nina was also very good and complete.

This is truly the best hotel in Selçuk if you want to have a local experience. The house is stunning and the decorations are fantastic. The owners are extremely kind and knowledgeable of all the things to do, foods to try and activities. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are beautiful, spacious and very clean and quiet. We did not want to leave!

The place was nice and clean and above the village with beautiful views. The breakfast on the patio was the best breakfast we have had in Turkey so far. Everything, including the bread and jams were homemade.
