It is okay. it reminded me a lot of Jamaica. Transportation can be iffy. If you have a car that is good. Taxis are available, but you need to be sure you are located near a location where they pass by, otherwise, you would need to hire a taxi to take you around. The food is very good, lots of local and international options. My friend from England and I had a great time on a looooong...
My friend from England and I had a great time on a looooong walk from the hotel up to the Savannah to see the beautiful fully restored historic mansions and have a coconut water. We could also walk next door to the Breakfast Shed or walk into town across the main road. Also, the Ferry to Tobago is right next door and for some very complicated reasons we had to drive all the way to Piarco Airport and fly over. But it would have been super easy to walk with our bags next door to the Ferry and have taken a leisurely crossing over.Guest review byButcherUnited States - 8.0

I loved it. The people were friendly and helpful. Strangers were always willing to help and offer support and advice. The city was clean and had plenty of modern facilities that worked well. The city has a lot of green spaces.
The city has a lot of green spaces. I used to taxi to move around and my driver (Victor) was an efficient and safe driver and pleasant companion. I visited the botanical garden (nice park but nor really a botanical garden) and the zoo (old-fashioned but still a nice outing), both at walking distance from the hotel (The Normandie). The people of Trinidad are very very friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable and safe whilst I was out and about doing my tourist thing. There are so many places to eat and everything I ate was good from fancy restaurants to the street food and there was so much to choose from. The perfect foodies paradise. But it was clean, the staff were polite, pleasant, and efficient, the included breakfast was lovely and both restaurants served delicious dinners. During my 10-day stay, it felt like home away from home. My room was separate to the kitchen and living area which had a fridge and microwave. I was very comfortable.
