The view was fantastic, and the room was exceptionally clean and spacious! While carrying our bags up to level 3 was a bit challenging, it wasn’t a major issue. We absolutely loved our stay! The family running the hotel were incredibly friendly and lovely, making the experience even better.

This is a perfect and affordable place in Jiufen. The hostel is super clean, the staff is friendly, and everything about my stay was exceptional. Perfect loacation and good breakfast! Suggest to join the night tour that you can learn more information for JiuFen. If you like take picture without crowd, the best solution is stay here for some days that you can wake up at 5:00 for sunset/dawn or night view after 10:00pm. Most store and cowd will start work on 10:00am and you already enjoy the view.

The host was very nice from the moment we got there. He gave us restaurant recommendations and directions for several hikes. The property is close to a mountain so it is quite fresh and the little terrace is lovely to enjoy in the morning or evening. Breakfast was quite standard but still ok.

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and...

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.

Tourist trap.

Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train...

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train station directly to this hotel and cost 270NTB, instead of spending many minutes climbing the stairs and getting lost like I did. I didn't know earlier and wasted a lot of time. But on my way down the host called a taxi for me, saved me the pain of carrying a suitcase down. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, and bring a bath towel if you are used to the hotels in Taipei.

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a...

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

Located on a little alley way behind the Jiufen main street. Very accessible location near the only 7/11 in Jiufen. Instead of the usual breakfast, they gave us coupon cards to use at the 7/11. That was great as we were able to get snacks before leaving Jiufen, and managed to have breakfast at the Tea Houses instead. Room space was good, good heating and water provided on all levels, they even had shot glasses for you to borrow and use.

There are many stairs in Jiufen and this hotel is located in a great spot with not too many stairs to climb and very near the old street ! The owners are very helpful and friendly ☺️ the room is neat, clean and has an amazing view for a very affordable price! Very happy with my stay there! It was nice to stroll at night to see the lanterns without the crowd ☺️

Lady was friendly. Easy to check in. Location was pretty high up in Jiufen but was situated in the middle of everything so it’s easy for foreigners to walk around. It takes 270NT from Ruifang station to the hotel just so you know. Pretty much clean in general however the room was much smaller than expected.

Quiet place overlooking the mountain and the sea. Nice view! Friendly owner (name hui Ming) explained everything before check-in.
