My stay was exceptional! As many reviewers have mentioned, it’s the staff that truly make this place special, especially Jason (okay… and the incredible views and the suspension bridge!). Jason was friendly, efficient, and attentive even before I left home. Travelling alone after working in Taiwan for three weeks, I was really looking forward to a short break, and he made me feel as though I was visiting a friend. It was exactly the rest I needed. Jason arranged my pickup and drop-off at Miaoli HSR with ease, and even asked the driver to take a slightly longer route so I wouldn’t have to haul my big suitcase across the bridge. The facilities were functional and clean. I stayed in a suite, and the private amenities were perfect for me. The shared facilities also looked great, and the whole place had a relaxed, friendly vibe. When I left, Jason (along with the general manager) came to see me off, even though it was his day off. They literally waved me on my way back to Scotland. In an AI-driven world where hotel apps and self check-ins often replace real interaction, these genuine human moments mean so much. This isn’t high-end glamour, but it’s something better: the very best of Taiwanese hospitality set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Their location is pretty good, it’s just next to the suspension bridge. Another thing let us excited is their home-made dinner, you could have Makino bamboo shoot, Rice in Lotus Leaf, bird-nest fern and balsam pear. You need to stay and order those dishes at that hotel exactly. The other thing is their hot spring is next to the suspension bridge, you could have a good sightseeing on the river valley.

Room was clean, spacious with hot spring installed in the bathroom. very relaxing and rejuvenating. public hot spring has 2 options, naked or with bathing suit on. like that the steam room here provide salt so you can scrub a little bit and leave the salt on and steam, very good for skin! nothing grand or fancy but the mattress, pillows and beddings are very very very comfortable. we had a feast during dinner (free flow beer! Though we only drank 1 glass, not good to get drunk for hot spring), that gesture of having free flow beer is just generous! cuisine is more tailored for Asian stomach if you are foreigners might have less options.
