Very friendly and welcoming staff and owner! The rooms/bungalows, pool, restaurant and public areas are so clean and well-maintained. There’s a generator which turns out to be really important for Zanzibar as the power supply cuts several times a day. There was a very nice BBQ night with a live band and it was really entertaining. Babalao have also organised our tours and made us feel home. Great value for money. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Oasis Blu Beach Resort! Despite some previous reviews mentioning bugs, we didn’t encounter any issues at all—everything was clean and comfortable. The resort is located a bit away from the busy center of Nungwi, which we actually loved. It costs around $25 for a round-trip taxi to the town, but being slightly removed means you get to enjoy a peaceful, almost private stretch of beach with breathtaking views. The hotel itself is quite small—fewer than 20 rooms—which makes it feel intimate and personal. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the staff are truly exceptional. Every single person went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well cared for. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic escape with outstanding hospitality, this place is a hidden gem!

We stayed at the Dhow Boutique Hotel for just one night, but it left a lasting impression. Despite moving to another place for the next two days, we kept coming back to the Dhow for coffee, lunch, and drinks, it quickly became our favorite spot. The hospitality from the owner and staff is truly unmatched; we felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. The views are breathtaking, and the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the turtle aquarium. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, definitely worth mentioning! The design of the hotel is also incredibly charming. Both the interior and exterior are beautifully crafted, with many wooden elements made by local carpenters using wood from traditional dhows (boats), giving the place a unique and authentic feel. As a bonus, guests have free access to the pool at the sister property, African Bungalows, which was a lovely perk. If I could give more than 10 points, I absolutely would.

I liked the relaxing and calm atmosphere of the place. Guests live there but there is always more than enough space for everyone. The management is super friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with whatever request you have. The beach is very close and you will get a beach towel for free. The food is very tasty and the prices are very reasonable. I kept coming to this hotel for lunches and dinners even after I checked out and moved in to another area. The hotel is new, so it is very clean and cozy around. The interior design of the rooms is very beautiful. I would definitely stay there again!

Zanzicrown is a modern, stylish hotel, situated in the more calm area of Numgwi, out of all the hassle. The room was big, extremely tidy with beautiful marble tile floor, bed was big and comfy and AC, hot water and wifi worked well all the time. They have very tasteful devoration and furniture, everything has a touch of design and elegance. The owners Elena and Matteo and their adorable cat Paolino treat us guests like we were family, always having time to chat and give great advice on what to see and do. For breakfast there was always a generous fruit plate, Elena's famous, freshly baked cakes and eggs and toast of your choise. All the staff was always helpful, arranging taxis, sunset cruises etc. Nearby is a lovely and relaxed Aluna sandy beach and a local restaurants with very good quality food for a very reasonable price, also vegetarian options easy to find.

    Many restaurants and beach bars , next to Badolina Bungalows . Good prices and good food at Baraka restaurant and Nanasi restaurant. And , also , at Zava restaurant. For excursions I recommend Yussufu , very nice guy and good prices .

    Truly enjoyed the pristine beach and the laid back nature of the place. Totally enjoyed several meals at Fish Restaurant which were absolutely delicious. I tried Kingfish, Changu, Perch, White Snapper, Prawns etc. The seafood was phenomenal. We also enjoyed seeing the turtles and the artwork at several curio shops. Also enjoyed an early morning boat ride seeing the dolphins. I can't believe how fast time went by. Looking forward to visiting Zanzibar again.

    Omg there is so much to do in Nungwi, when you have the right agent to take you around the sceneries , the people , all was worth it . Nungwi is just what you hear and see in pictures there is no exaggerations.

    It is the farthest tip of the island...about 1:20 taxi drive. Next time, I would stay on the blower east side where there are villages and hotels. But for first time Nungwi was lively offering many activities.

    The staff are exceptional.

    The staff are exceptional. They are intentional about hospitality, constantly checking if everything is okay and responding instantly to any requests I had. Honestly, just for the staff alone, it’s worth a visit. Their smiles are so welcoming, especially combined with the lovely garden space.

    The resort was amazing and looked after to perfection.

    The resort was amazing and looked after to perfection. Nothing was to much trouble and absolutely everything was provided for. The beach was very safe and clean and the ocean clear and warm. Plenty of water sport activities to choose from and of course security around but not over facing. Perfection. The romantic dinner on the last evening was stunning, but all of the restaurants were excellent with great choices.

    Great architecture, great location, super clean. Breakfast was very delicious and satisfying ( that pancakeee :), I am a serious coffee addict and they have various coffee selection. Before coming to Zanzibar, I had some question on my mind about the food, but the hotel's food is really successful. The hotel has 2 chefs and they do great job. And the hotel is very close to the most famous nungwi beach. We will definitely come again. We had a chance to experience gym and spa. We liked massage.

    The meals provided were fantastic and the staff created such a great atmosphere with their singing and happiness. Shout out to William who spoke with us about what to do/see during our time in Zanzibar. The view from our room was beautiful and the hotel grounds were spectacular. It was also perfectly safe and very interesting to walk in to Nungwi town either down the beach or via the main road. The Riu app worked fine and we were able to eat in each speciality restaurant during our stay...:)

    We loved our stay! Location was perfect and we even got upgraded to a sea view room which was beautiful, they provide beach beds which was also a plus. Rooms are really comfortable, clean and beds are good. Hotel manager Ismael answered to all our questions and handled everything we asked for. We also really enjoyed the breakfast with views and also the dinner options. We'll definitely stay here again when in Zanzibar, Asante Sana!

    Light of Zanzibar is a 2 min walk to the beach. The staff were super friendly and kind and went out of their way to welcome us. The rooms are not big but the bed is very comfortable and the WiFi worked well on our ground floor room. The breakfast was filling and better than many other hotels in Nungwi. We had a great time at the hotel and will definitely be back if we come back to Nungwi

    Fantastic hotel super close to Nungwi beach (the best beach in Zanzibar!) Lots of facilities including pool / gym / spa / table tennis and a lively atmosphere. Very comfortable bed, spacious room and friendly staff / management. Breakfast was delicious, omelettes and pancakes and fresh fruit cut in front of you- dreamy! hope we can come back soon!
