Bishop is a wonderfully quaint town with an interesting balance of hippie, granola vibes mixed with middle-America small town feel. Loved exploring the downtown, great options for coffee, food and drinks. LOVED Great Basin Bakery, I highly recommend the John Wayne bagel, or any bagel for that matter. Had the best time exploring the outdoors and getting some California leaf-peeping in over a long weekend. Lake Sabrina is insanely gorgeous. There were so many more places that we wanted to visit and we'll be heading back out in January.

Stayed while passing through for fall colors which were spectacular. Cool town, plenty to do there and surrounding area. Been driving through there on vacations for decades and it's maintained it's flavor well.

Very friendly town!
Very friendly town! Bishop is a great jumping off point for lots of activities in the area. We live close to SFO airport, so the 40 minute plane ride was a very easy way to get there (as opposed to 6 hours of driving). We rented a car and drove to Alabama Hills, Laws Railroad Museum and, best of all, Bishop Creek Canyon for the BEAUTIFUL fall colors!! Around town we went to the Fall Colors Car Show, antique stores and Schat's FANTASTIC Bakery! Bishop is a fascinating area geologically and historically - a part of California we did not know much about. Highly recommend a visit, particularly in the fall!!

To truly appreciate Bishop you have to slow down.
To truly appreciate Bishop you have to slow down. It’s best experienced not just looked at. Rich cultures, good food, and beautiful scenery that can be explored in numerous ways. I understand economics but it is losing its charm chasing the quick $. It used to be a nice place to go overnight to just relax, that’s gone. I hope that a better balance of expectations for the town can be found. Progress can and will happen, but having a place that forces you to slow down…has potential in this world of non stop and go go go.

Great place to stay along 395 as it is the largest town in the area and has the most choices for lodging and dining.
The bristlecone pine forest is nearby and definitely worth the drive up to the grove.

It's a wonderful small town with beautiful views in every direction. Lots of fun things to do and very friendly. We love to attend Mule Days, but that's just one thing that Bishop offers! Hope it can keep the small town charm.

We stayed here after driving from Las Vegas - ready to head across Yosemite the next day. The hotel was in town so there were several places to eat nearby (Mexican was awesome). Our sons used the pool and the gym and which were both quiet all evening. The free buffet breakfast saved us time in the morning. Having an extra sofa bed meant our sons had a bed each which they were very happy about.

It's a standard motel with standard rooms and facilities. The rooms were perhaps a bit roomier than in most similar motels. The one thing that I've never seen before and which was very handy was that all the TV inputs (HDMI, USB, etc.) were brought out to a front panel, making laptop connection easy. Everyone should have that!

My usual go to place in Bishop. convenient to places to eat. Room was very clean and comfortable. TV controls did not work but since I was only there for one evening it was not a big deal. You also get a discount at the Pizza Place right next to the Inn.

Nice hotel with a convenient location. Room was clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was standard for the U.S. Parking in the territory.
