I was there on business, though I would have enjoyed a few days there. Fort Knox is close by. Jim Beam Distillery, Maker's Mark Distillery, and a few others. Not to mention the home of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Places I would love to have gone to.

Enjoyed the largeness of the rooms. Had a new walk in shower and it was roomy enough but if you brought your own stuff for it there is no shelves and have to be put on the floor. Beds were way too firm so my wife and I ended up with very stiff and hurting backs each morning. We thought the scrambled eggs might have been powdered and not real because they tasted watery. Might want to eat out for breakfast. Staff was very friendly. There is no in house store there to buy snacks or food for the room so you might want to hit a store before checking in if your stay is as long as ours were. Not the most comfortable place we have stayed at but we were going for the best deal in price. For the price it was very pleasant.

Elizabethtown is a small town (about 30,000) that had more than we expected. There was a mall, two arcades, lots of restaurants etc.
It is fairly close to Louisville and on a major highway. My friend and I met up there to attend a show in downtown Louisville because I didn’t want to drive in the big city. It worked well for that and we spent one day exploring the main shopping area of Elizabethtown.
It seemed easy to get around and well taken care of. There are way more hotels and restaurants than you would expect thanks to the highway.
For a stand alone trip you may want to check out Bardstown or Frankfort which have more character, but Elizabethtown is convenient and not too big. A pleasant small town that is essentially a separate suburb of Louisville.

Housekeeping was the best.
Housekeeping was the best. Always accommodating even when we were not up and out of the room. They made sure we had what we needed and the days were out of the room the beds were made and bathroom was cleaned.

This hotel was super clean and the staff so friendly its puts all other places to shame. The vent fans in the bathroom actually worked, and for being a hotel where pets are welcome it was amazingly clean and smelled great. The common areas were tiled so cleaning was easy for the staff. Some rooms have jetted tubs so ask for a room with one. The breakfast was great with eggs, sausage , biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt and fruits. Will stay here every time in the area.

Loved the original downtown square: JR Neighbors for dining, The Vibe Coffee Shop for Breakfast & FlyWheel Brewery which was just a few blocks off the square. But Back Home Restaurant ( on Dixie at Miles) has wonderful KY favorites in E’Town. On the 2cd floor above it is a very nice women's boutique. Freeman’s Lake & surrounding trail system is quite an asset.

This is our second year staying here on our way to TN. Updates have been made to the rooms since last year, and made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to Ruby Tuesday, Texas Roadhouse, and several other restaurants. Nearby are many shopping centers and national chain stores, along with some local shops that we enjoyed. We highly recommend staying at Comfort Suites and Elizebethtown KY and will be back next year on our way south.
