FAQs about hotels in Houston

Space, Sports and Sheer Size

Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.

Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.

Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.

The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

What Guests Said About Houston:

The weather was great--less humid in December.

The weather was great--less humid in December. The Hampton Inn near the Galleria was the perfect place to stay with a wonderful breakfast included with many selections, and a gated, well lit parking lot. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. I learned this the hard way as my rental vehicle's back hatch window was smashed at Little Pappasito's, the Richmond at Kirby location. They have roving security and cameras but that didn't keep the thieves away.

Go to Hermann Park. But go early because its huge. But its beautiful. There is a duck ponnd and pedal boats. A replica of Washington monument. Shade and grass and friendly people. And if you are driving there seemed to be plenty of parking.City metro train goes there... traffic in houston is ugly Do yourself a favor take that metro train.

Houston has a lot to offer.

Houston has a lot to offer. Wide variety of restaurants for any budget. Ate at Pit Room, Dish Society, Dough Zone and Maximo's among others. Professional and college sports available. Variety of museums but especially enjoyed the Museum of Fine Arts. Excellent zoo. Menil Collection and Rothko Chapel with surrounding green space and sculptures nice area for respite in the city. Upscale shopping at Kuhl-Linscomb is worth checking out.

Houston is quite big and has so many things to do that we were unable to do a fraction of what was available. We found great and affordable places to eat. Tons of shopping options and access to many things we were interested in. This city does not sleep and keeps you busy if you are interested in staying active.

I'm visiting Houston for work but from the food to the weather and places to see I'm looking forward to my next visit--and hopefully will even get to the Johnson Space Center! From the Goode Company to Whataburger I'm wishing I had brought some tasty treats home with me.

I like Houston and have been there before with my family.

I like Houston and have been there before with my family. Lots of museums, planetariums and activities to keep children engaged. Great restaurants that serve a variety of cuisines. On this trip we drove into the city, and it is easy to navigate. The George Brown Convention Center is very popular and was a great site for this convention. It faces onto a park which that week was also celebrating Korea week, with pop-up tent vendors selling various wares and Korean foods, many dressed in traditional garb. Nearby there was a music center that had different acts playing every night to large crowds.

Huge apartments, well furnished, clean and comfortable. Includes a kitchen too which is handy. Location is good in downtown Houston. Free laundry facilities and tea/coffee station. Staff were friendly and stored our luggage for us on the last day which was great. I think there are 2 hotels in same building but you can check in with either one. Beds were a little on the small size given the room space.

The staff was courteous and polite. They served a wonderful hot breakfast and an Awesome 5:30 kickback. Also, the inside of the room and the hotel overall was very clean. It was a great location accessible to the highway, as well as The Galleria Mall and many other shopping centers and attractions. Will definitely stay here again!
