This was my first time going to Jim Thorpe!

This was my first time going to Jim Thorpe! I’ve always heard so much about it and I’m glad I finally got to go. We went on the train to see all the beautiful different colors of leaves. I have to save my favorite part. Was a trolley person that did that. I can’t remember his name. He was so knowledgeable about Jim Thorpe and he told us all about Jim Thorpe while we’re on that trolley. I really really enjoyed that.! I also enjoyed all the vendors, especially with the pastries. Oh my. So goood! Also left all of the shops and restaurants!

Would be nice if you could just see it No parking and you...

Would be nice if you could just see it No parking and you would have to walk for miles to see anything Aso could not find anywhere in town to eat when concert ended And again no parking anywhere in town Only parking was at the train station and you had to take the shuttel which was also limited

I'm not a big fan of Roller Coasters and I wouldn't...

I'm not a big fan of Roller Coasters and I wouldn't recommend the drive to anyone who suffers from vertigo. The drive up and down the mountainous roads between Interstate 476 (PA TPKJ NE Extension) and Jim Thorpe was unnerving.

Pleasurable weekend in Jim Thorpe, town is very historic, beautiful, small and quiet. This is a town you go to when you need to recharge when feeling burn out. Full of lakes and camping places. Favorite place was lake Mauch Chunk Lake. We ate at Marion Hose and Ma's Crepe and Cake. Parking is not easy,but once you park, it is easy to get around.

The short weekend wasn't enough time for all there is to see...

The short weekend wasn't enough time for all there is to see and do. Cannot wait to return, to see the lake and the sunset. The pool, more hiking and exploration of Jim Thorpe. Just being there in such a quiet, cozy spot with family and pet was rejuvenating and a much-appreciated time out. Highly recommend!

We went to Jim Thorpe for three full days and two nights in...

We went to Jim Thorpe for three full days and two nights in mid-September to celebrate our anniversary. We had a lovely trip and especially enjoyed the Trolley ride (which was informative and VERY entertaining), a separate visit to the Jim Thorpe Memorial, and the tour of the Asa Packer House. All are a must-do! The train ride was very nice as well. We were in the dome car which enables you to get a wide view of the scenery. You should sit on the right-hand side of the train to get the best views. We did not see the fall colors on this trip, other than the occasional tree starting to change. The views will be much more spectacular in a few more weeks, but keep in mind that JT will be VERY crowded at that time. The only downside to our trip was that several restaurants and stores were closed when we were there, which was mid-week. There are plenty of options for standard food but the nicer restaurants were closed Monday-Wednesday, which we did not know beforehand. We would probably go back for two nights, Wed-Thurs, leaving on Friday.

This lovely house is so well appointed. There is everything you need and more. There is a lovely outside space with a deck, heater, fire pit, tables, chairs to enjoy the peaceful backyard. Close enough to Jim Thorpe, yet out of the craziness. The one level worked great for the 5 of us all 69 to 84 yrs old. The hosts, were very easy to get a hold of, communicated check in very well.

Check in clerk was very pleasant and got us checked in quickly! Excellent restaurant and bar on site. Overall a nice place to stay as it's close to Jim Thorpe and affordable. We'll use Macaluso's again!
