We mostly walked around the city, which was safe and interesting, getting to know different neighbourhoods and discover places to visit and eat. The subway was helpful to get between the more distant districts and we found it to be clean, safe and excellent value for money. We only had a couple of bookings made in advance, to tour NBC Studios, see the recording of a TV show, visit the observation deck of the Empire State Building and see an off-Broadway show. The rest of the time we were happy to see what we found along the way, including lunches and dinners, the variety of which is enormous. Our visit coincided with Halloween, which was a far bigger celebration event than we are used to and it turned into a highlight of our stay, seeing almost everyone dressed up, candy being handed out and people in a friendly mood.

Safe and nice city with great transportation system.

Safe and nice city with great transportation system. No discrimination to Asian women. We loved our walking experience in the city and spent time in the beach in Dumbo. We had a lovely dinner in Dallas restaurant Times Square. We enjoyed shopping and eating at different restaurants and fast food.

Felt very safe for 2 females.

Felt very safe for 2 females. We walked miles and used the subway day and night. So much to see! We did Hop on, Hop off, open top bus tour, Empire State Building, 9/11 Memorial, museum and One World Observatory and Summit One Vanderbilt. All booked about a month before with Viator. We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge to DUMBO, took the Staten Island free ferry to see Statue of Liberty, went to Bryant Park, Rockerfeller Centre, 5th Avenue, Maceys, NY Public Library, Ellen's Stardust Diner, and had a pedicab tour of Central Park. New York was amazing.

Loved the atmosphere of the city and the ease of use of public transport. Bars and restaurants were good. Didn't like the constant smell of weed everywhere and the somewhat open drug abuse on the subway.

New York is awesome for a short city break. Have visited from home in Caribbean many times over the years. Sadly, the airport experience (immigration) will stop us from coming again until we hear this has been resolved.

Superb location close to Times Square, theatres and restaurants. We had the 2 bedroom suite with the terrace which was outstanding. Enjoying a glass of wine looking out at the city lights was breathtaking and really made the experience very special. The Hotel Scherman team was awesome and really looked after all our needs. For us, this is the go to hotel when staying in Manhattan and highly recommend. Thanks to all the team for a wonderful experience.

Location was fantastic right in the middle of Manhattan, walking distance to Empire State Building, Times square. We even walked to Central Park. We were offered a ride to the airport at fixed rate lower than Taxi & Uber. We would stay at this hotel again if we go back to New York. We would recommend it to anyone going to New York. The room was clean.

Couldn't ask for a better location bang in the middle of Manhattan and for a reasonable price too. Situated between multiple subway stations, places to eat and Times Square just around the corner. This was perfect for a first time traveller to New York.
