We loved the overall vibe and decor of the hotel: family-friendly, yet cool and stlyish with a very relaxed 70s vibe from when you walk in. Restaurant and pool area have a real holiday-feel about them. We loved that the breakfast buffet used proper cutlerly and plates. We only stayed two nights as part of our 2 weeks California road trip. But could very well imagine for a family to stay there for more days doing sight-seeing and then relaxing at the pool and using all the additional entertainment such as open-air film screenings, guided walks etc. This hotel was definitely the highlight accommodation of our trip because of its unique 70s style and very friendly, laid-back atmosphere.

Room was clean but shower didn’t drain and started to flood.

Room was clean but shower didn’t drain and started to flood. No accommodations to make things right. I had to take a cold fast shower and didn’t have a good nights sleep because I was freezing. Turned up the room to 76. Just overall not a good experience. I would expect better maintenance on basic functions in a hotel. If the housekeepers didn’t notice the shower not draining you really wonder how well they clean the room.

I fell in love with Sherman Oaks.

I fell in love with Sherman Oaks. This was our first stay as we have family close by living in Encino. There are so many restaurants, shopping and even grocery stores that are walking distance (to where we stayed). It is also a short drive to many hiking trails. I really liked the vibe and probably will stay in Sherman Oaks during our next trip

Newly refurbished motel.

Newly refurbished motel. Room was clean and had good linens. The decor was 60s inspired which complimented the era of the drive motel era which it is. I liked the different colored room entry doors because it made it easier to find room and was cheerful look. The location was good access to freeway. The breakfast room had a nice atmosphere, clean and offered options such as coffee, tea, pastries.

We liked this hotel very much. The complimentary parking included was great and looked safe. The front desk has good amenities, coffee brewer, water filter (!), cups and napkins. The business center room was great, I was able to connect for my online work meeting seamlessly. The breakfast is not included, but there's a great Denny's location right next door, where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's open 24/7 I think.

While many hotel chains have gone to cold grey decor, this Hampton had an old Hollywood theme and warm, inviting colors and textures. Plus the staff went above and beyond to be helpful, particularly Sam at the front desk. My husband was recovering from back surgery and Sam insisted on helping him get into the car and loaded our luggage into the back.

Hotel is super clean. Only place in a two weeks trip where they cleaned the rooms all days we were in (and without asking). Hotel is well located right next to highway 405 so it gives easy acces to Universal Studios and Gety museum. Not too far from Hollywood or the beach in Santa Monica or Malibu either.

The Sojourn is a conveniently located, clean and comfortable hotel with all amenities, swimming pool and a lovely 70s/80s feel. The staff was very helpful and let us store our luggage on the last day after check-in while we went out sightseeing until very late.
