Location was excellent--we could walk both to the ski village and the town. Facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool, hot tub and firepit were clean and well-maintained, although we didn't have time to use them. We would definitely stay here again!

Winona's is a great place to eat breakfast.

Winona's is a great place to eat breakfast. The Yampa riverwalk is very nice as is the botanical garden. We drove out of town and found a quiet area with walking trails that backed up to a sub-division. However, there was a lot of traffic and visitors mid-week in Oct (no snow yet), so we'll look to find another place to visit.

Loved Strawberrry Hot Springs, interesting last 2 miles of dirt road to get there! Loved hiking Fish Creeek Falls. Loved the Botanical Gardens and Lyon's Drug Store Soda Fountain. Nice downtown to walk around.

If you wish to park downtown on the main street, understand...

If you wish to park downtown on the main street, understand the boulevard is not wide enough for the driver to exit as traffic passes. You'll either lose your car door or your life, ha ha. It took us a day to discover the better dining experiences were one block south of the main street. Front line staff serving customers were all very pleasant and we are willing to engage in conversation if they had time. It's also a very clean community.

Impossible to park but there is a free bus around town. Very crowded and 3 1/2 hours from Denver so not easy to get to. Free app for the bus schedule but you need ask someone in the transportation center. Other ski areas are closer and easier to get to and more appealing.

This was an early season ski trip for me.

This was an early season ski trip for me. Knowing that no one can control the snow, I was pleasantly surprised that a significant portion of the mountain was open. I really enjoyed the absence of lift lines and restaurant lines but I know this is an artifact of the early season skiing. The town is fun and people are very friendly which is nice when I travel alone. I will come again. I didn't have a car and utilized the bus or walked wherever I wanted to go. The bus is dependable and convenient once I knew where I wanted to go....you can't blame the bus if you don't know where you want to go. I took a shuttle to the regional airport in Hayden. That was pleasant to avoid the drive Denver and very dependable. (It is highly recommended that you book your shuttle trip in advance since you won't likely find a taxi there.)

Very nice town for middle aged folks that like to ride bikes and dirt bikes. I can only imagine how nice it must be during ski season, unfortunately we were there in August. Lots of places to eat and shop, but very pricey.

There is no breakfast, but we did not expect it. Their outside sign ...on line... says breakfast but the actual sign when you get there does not say this. Somebody needs to update the wedsite. Nordic Lodge was clean and comfortable and the staff (those of them that could speak/understand English) were very nice. However the outside pool area needs to be taken care of. Our disappointment was with Booking.Com. We did not get the accomodation with the full kitchen we expected.

We choose this hotel because it offered "full breakfast" in the price. The "full breakfast" was the worst of any hotel we've ever stayed in (picture supplied). The check-in desk was closed for the entirety of our stay i.e. we couldn't check-in or out. The newly renovated rooms were cheap and nasty. Booking.com should not offer this hotel as one of it's properties!

We booked a suite which was absolutely lovely, spacious and we wished we had booked longer. Lovely bathroom and shower, kitchen had everything we needed and although a little chilly to sit out in October a balcony with table and chairs. Would recommend! Plenty to do in the area too. Hotel gave recommendations for things to do in the area.
