We only stayed in Thibodaux because it was well located for our trip exploring the swamp areas south of New Orleans. Also, photographs of the old town looked interesting, although it turned out to be disappointing as nothing was open in the early evening.

THE ROOM AN BATHROOM WAS DIRTY. THE TUB AN SHOWER VALVES WERE BAD COMING OUT OF WALL..THE HOTEL HAD A BAD SMELL. AN THE MEN STAYING THERE KEPT SIDE DOOR UNLOCK SO THEY COULD SIT OUTSIDE AN DRINK ALL NIGHT,THEY LEFT THEIR BEER BOTTLES ON SIDEWALK AN PLAYED THEIR MUSIC LOUD. AN THE GUEST UPSTAIRS WAS VERY NOISE THEY COULD BE HEARD FROM OUR ROOM DOWNSTAIRS. IT WAS NOT A GOOD STAY,LEFT THE NEXT MORNING AN GOT A ROOM AN THE HAMPTON INN. WILL NOT BE RETURNIN THERE. WE HAVE STAYED AT OTHER HOTELS AN THEY WERE OKAY. THIS ONE NEEDS ALOT OF HELP.

Although very reasonably priced (65 $ for a huge room with two king size beds), the Carmel Inn has all the avantages of a luxury hotel.
- free parking
- free breakfast
- swimming pool
- restaurant & bar
- spacious lobby
- five minute walk to historic downtown
A perfectly functional hotel a couple of miles from downtown. The staff were most helpful, my room was fine and breakfast (a simple but adequate buffet) did the job well.
