More than just a review, this is advice on how to enjoy Halong Bay from this excellent family-run hotel. We decided to stay at this hotel for two nights to have a full day to enjoy the cruise and return in the evening without having to endure another two-hour journey back to Hanoi. The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the boarding area and offers a stunning view of the bay. Laura took care of everything! She was very professional and kind in managing all our needs: she booked a luxurious cruise for us (with a high-quality buffet and an onboard jacuzzi) at very competitive prices. Thanks to her, we had priority boarding, allowing us to secure the best spot on the boat. The hotel is very simple but functional. The breakfast is excellent, with dishes prepared by Laura's mother. Not to be overlooked, Laura speaks good English, which made our conversations much easier. I highly recommend it for enjoying the bay cruise without the stress of 4–5 hours on a bus to/from Hanoi.

Firstly all staff were excellent, all were very accommodating, going above and beyond their duties 5 stars. Secondly the Stunning Views from our Bathroom and Bedroom on the 16th floor were spectacular. Thirdly we loved the automatic lifts that were operated using our room key, there was then an announcement to inform us of which lift would be arriving first.

Outstanding hotel, truly a 5* experience! The hotel just opened a few months ago, but operations are running seamlessly. The lobby is gorgeous, everything smells great, and all amenities in the common areas and rooms are high quality, well-made, and feel luxurious. I can imagine that this is also a great hotel for conventions and even weddings. Our room on the 19th floor was tastefully designed, spacious, and spotless and had a nice view of Ha Long Bay. The bed was huge - two queen beds pushed together - and is perhaps a little on the harder side. The rain shower's water pressure is perfect. We also want to highlight the food: we ordered room service, ate cakes in the lobby, and had breakfast as well as lunch at the Fern Restaurant. Everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Above all though, the staff at the Yacht Hotel is brilliant and kind. They took care of and found solutions to all of our requests swiftly and expertly. When we needed to go to the emergency room at night, they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of, staying in touch throughout and ensuring we felt comfortable and calm in a stressful situation. Thank you so incredibly much to all the staff, who make this luxury hotel a true gem in Ha Long Bay.

It's a very clean and comfortable place for a very reasonable price, I ended up staying longer than I originally planned. The owner and his family are incredibly nice and helpful too. The location might be a positive too, IF you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place, far away from the noise of motorbikes, that is just few minutes of walking away from a beautiful beach at Halong bay, this is a perfect place!

The karsts are beautiful, and can easily be viewed from shore without the need to do a boat tour. The tourism is a "wild-west" scenario, with the natural environment taking a pounding. There's trash in the water, hordes of people crammed onto literally hundreds of boats and ships, diesel permeates the air... It's a tourist trap money grab done poorly! I hear Cat Ba Island is more scenic, natural, and unspoiled. Maybe that's a better option. We WOULD NOT return to Ha Long Bay,

It was off peak so not everywhere was open.

It was off peak so not everywhere was open. Some of the streets were deserted. However the boat trip was really good, busy but not as busy as in peak season when it must be too busy! The boats all go to the same places so the sea is just filled with boats which slightly detracts from the experience . We did enjoy our boat trip and our boat was lovely and had loads of space and not too many people! Maybe around 20 of us but spread over 3 decks, so loads of space!

I like to stay in Ha Long Essence Hotell with comfy beds and pillows. Sleep very well there for one night. With the price I paid I would say the hotel provide high standard of hygiene and nice deco. I don mind booking the hotel again when i am back on Ha Long.

Mr Power was a very good tour leader, he was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. All the staff are friendly, the food and drinks was very good and the cooking class was very funny and entertaining. Cave visit with the boat was fantastic.

Very tranquil ,beautiful.views , enjoyed the swim and canoeing which were part of the trip, food was good . Be prepared for all the rub bish floating which was a shame and the hawkers in the little boats trying to sell.you stuff, we had a cabin with a balcony which was nice but as we were right next to the water they could harass you . The drinks on the boat were really expensive . If you want to have a glass of wine etc in your room just bring your own there is a fridge

Fantastic Hotel in Ha Long with ocean view and the HaLong Bay! The rooms feel luxurious and are in excellent shape (We had the Family Room). For breakfast there is a huge buffet with many options and freshly prepared eggs like omelette. The In-House restaurant is a great option a well. We had the australian beef fillet with a bottle of red wine and it was excellent. There is also the possibility to arrange a driver to the Hanoi No Bai Airport for a reasonable fee that is cheaper that via Grab. Absolute recommendation!

This was an extremely well presented and comfortable hotel offering fantastic value for money. Conveniently located in the heart of Ha Longs new development area it was the ideal spot to access the International Cruise Port for tours and trips around Ha Longs Heritage Bay (1.2Km away). All the staff were extremely nice and very helpful which is important, especially when offering advice on a range of suggestions for places to dinner.

Absolutely beautiful. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing. The building is new. The facilities are AMAZING. The staff are wonderful. They were so welcoming and warm. They accommodated us and a few of their main receptionists/waitresses speak English. My friends and I had a wonderful time at A La Carte Ha Long Bay.

Lovely clean hotel. Great staff, comfy beds and stunning views of the bay. The location is perfect for people wanting to be within walking distance to the marina where you get the boats from for the ha long bay trips. Highly recommend.
