For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is expensive and you are better off staying in an Air BnB near by and visiting the springs in the day time. Bedrooms lack privacy and are prone to noise from the outside and neighbouring rooms well into the evening.

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at...

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at Stanford, rather than the usual route through Hermanus. Beautiful drive through valley from Caledon to Stanford. Best in Caledon was dinner at The Barn Restaurant ... don't judge a restaurant by it's front door!!! It's a gem: extensive menu, generous proportions, friendly service, quirky ice buckets! Shop for personal essentials was easy to find. Spa and Casino at Caledon Hotel were of no interest to us. Flowers weren't open on the overcast day.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back. It was just as I remembered. The beautiful mountain views, the town surrounded by farmland is an experience in itself. It is a quiet town and close to other towns like Hermanus, Gansbaai, Grabouw etc. I would recommend staying in Caledon as well as a visit to the Caledon Spa with its natural hot spring.

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving...

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving into a working farming village (which it also is) but it also has so much more to offer. Its a great stop when driving from cape town to the garden route, close to hemel and aarde valley and to hermanus. The town itself has beautiful botanic gardens, a big spa and casino, you can do quadriding and also worlds longest zipline is there! We loved our stay at the Caledon Grace Guesthouse- a wonderful Victorian home from the 1850's- in lush gardens where we could really relax after all this roadtripping.

Very nice room with beautiful view.

Very nice room with beautiful view. The hot pools were lovely, but the upper ones not very well marked. I had Sunday lunch in the restaurant, and breakfast also there and both meals were very good. The dining room is spacious with a lovely view.

We went on our honeymoon, and we are still raving about that...

We went on our honeymoon, and we are still raving about that breakfast ... the sauna and steam rooms are my very favourite and there's a gym!!!! My new favourite place to visit. We took a walk down to the little shopping mall every day and enjoyed that exercise too. The venue is amazing, and you will enjoy every minute.

Still the best property to book at in Caledon. Safe, clean, lovely outdoor area. Nice modern vintage vibe. Cleaning staff was also very friendly, we didn’t have a chance to get milk as we checked in late and they where happy to provide us with some milk to make coffee (those small things makes this an accommodation of choice for me as a frequent Caledon visitor).

The cottage is on the owner’s property, tucked away in Caledon with secure parking. It’s perfectly set up for a weekend away, with a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and double bed. We found it to be exactly what we needed for a quick wedding visit to the area
