The hotel is located in the nature area, it’s very calm and peaceful. The staff is friendly, the room is spotless. There is a braai zone just outside the room so you can cook for yourself. The location is very convenient if you want to visit the canyon Blyde, it’s just 20 km to the viewpoint Three rondavels. And the cutest thing in the place is the host’s dog, a female Lea. She went to us in the morning to say “Hello”

We had an exceptional stay at Ploughman's Rest! It was our first time to South Africa and Daleen welcomed us as if we were family. It was great to have not only two rooms but a kitchen, living area and a porch to relax as well. Daleen was very helpful in providing tips and information to help make our stay really special. We also took the option to have an evening meal which was fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend Ploughman's Rest.

As we mentioned this morning at breakfast: every aspect of our stay was a surprise. The room was perfect, the safety guaranteed, the view spectacular, dinner was tasty and cosy (along the fire), a fresh full breakfast, ... What else do you need? Just wished we had stayed longer and had explored the region with this B&B as our base / hub.

The lodge was extremely comfortable, luxurious and relaxing. The rooms were spacious with wonderful views across the bush. seating outside was comfortable and private. The restaurant area and communal lounge area was very tastefully decorated in keeping with nature , local culture and the environment. The information in the rooms was not only extremely informative but interesting across a range of subjects from the local school to the flora and fauna. Peter and Claudia were very welcoming and helpful and we really wished we had planned to stay longer as there was clearly so much to do in the area and we will definitely return the next time we are heading out on safari.
