Spent a week at the Alpine Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely setting, clean, secure and well run. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with everything we needed. Even enjoyed a swim in the pool despite the chilly early spring weather. Would recommend to everyone.

Very good room with a good amount of space and clean. All features were working such as a kettle, TV and WiFi. It was perfect for my business trip and in the perfect location with walking distance into the town. I did take a trip to Wilderness on Monday morning via Uber and everything was within a good distance to be able to explore.

George appeared to be a nice small town. While entering through the highway, there are a few patches that appear kind of unsafe and disappointing, but most part of the town is good. The nearby places like Victoria Bay and Mossel Bay (didn’t visit) are good.

I liked that it’s not very busy.

I liked that it’s not very busy. The transport network looked great. Didn’t see taxis creating havoc on the roads. I didn’t like the fact that driving from Knysna to airport I couldn’t find a petrol station to fill up the car

George is a wonderful starting point for exploring the beautiful Garden Route. A variety of activities, like the southern hemisphere's biggest hedge maze, proximity to Wilderness and Victoria Bay and some lovely restaurants makes for a great stop.

Quite clean and peaceful. Residents are friendly. Lots of malls and good shopping experiences. Breathtaking views of mountains and the Wilderness beaches are just too lovely. Cozy quiet coves in Herolds Bay & Victoria Bay. Places to eat Halaal food plentiful.

We all loved George.

We all loved George. It is so close to so many attractions and beautiful areas. It is a good base to be at to do day trips. George is so clean, and no potholes. We wished that we had more time to look around. We had a fantastic meal at Cula restaurant.

George itself is more of a business town than a tourist destination but it is well-placed as a base to visit elsewhere, and is apparently famed throughout Germany as golf course central for the Western Cape. Although there is not much crime in the town, the property is gated, with the best parking spots double-gated. Many restaurants are walkable by daylight, and Uber is active all day and after dark. Very much the creation of its multi-lingual owner-manager, who goes out of his way to make you welcome.

Thank you to you, Ken for your warm welcome and friendliness and hospitality. Your property is number one on our list for accommodation in George because of it's cleanliness and our unit had everything we needed. It was ideal for myself, hubby and our 9 year old daughter. And we loved how central it is to the main road, York street. We will definitely stay there again.
