Lions Place is a fabulous lodge. Located in the middle of a private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park, the hotel provides a luxury experience. Besides being very nice, well decorated and comfortable, it offers several alternatives to tour the area with highly trained guides (Congratulations to JB and Ian for their fantastic work as guides!) The room is very spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a large bathtub, closets, tea and coffee making facilities, cold water and an incredible view of the savannah. Lions Place also has a swimming pool, and two viewpoint that allow you to view the beautiful scenery, plus the garden where if you are lucky you can find wild animals (we saw a porcupine). JB, who is in charge of the place is the best! Very friendly, welcoming and an excellent guide both in the area and during the full day safari we did in Kruger. At Lions Places you can also request, in addition to the value of your stay, a dinner, which is an unforgettable experience. A French and South African fusion dinner with a starter, main course and dessert, which, weather permitting, is served outdoors. In our case we did a full day safari (exceptional!) and a morning bush walk. Both instances were amazing! We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and many other mammals and birds that made the visit unforgettable. A special note to the ladies who run the place, they are very kind and excellent cooks! Totally recommended and we would stay there again.

Hardus is an excellent host,we loved everything, and the food was great. We viewed a leopard drinking water in front of our porch. Elephant, giraffe, hyena, and antelope around the lodge.

The accommodation itself is a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. We were lucky enough to see all the animals during our game drives. Our guide Thomas and Sean were so knowledgeable and always patient. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking to experience the Big Five! Special mention to Kathlyn who was always available and made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable during our stay. The owners Jørgen and Lisbeth have done a fabulous job to allow us to experience this moment in the wild.

We had a wonderful time here. The entire team went above and beyond to give us a unique experience. The location and accommodations are fantastic. From your comfy couch and pool, you can spot elephants, crocodiles, and hippos. We even spotted a leopard on the boat trip on the Olifants River. Thank you, Cathleen, for spoiling us. Phomola Manor is an oasis in Greater Kruger with a stunning garden of succulents greeting you as you approach the house. The property is frequented by a spectacular range of birds from iridescent sun birds to a number of owls spotted from the comfort of the garden during our stay. Lindie is a fabulous host who has gone to great effort to furnish the manor with everything we could possibly need for and more. She kindly arranged a wonderful meal on our first night on request. We had some wonderful game drives in Grietjie with very experienced and knowledgeable guides organised by Lindie. We also did a day trip into Kruger which was very easy to do. The highlight during our stay was going on a bush walk with Eugene. His infectious enthusiasm and abundant knowledge were so informative. Approaching a pride of lions on foot and a safe close encounter with elephants got our hearts beating and created life long memories.

A fantastic private lodge with a beautiful rooms and...

A fantastic private lodge with a beautiful rooms and tastefully decorated. The host Ian is outstanding as a person. If you are there especially for the hide photography I would recommend 4 days. We were unlucky with the two days we stayed in terms of sightings but that all changed the day we left. Hence would recommend at least 3 if not 4-5 days to better your chances.

Nice, fairly small private reserve in the Greater Kruger.

Nice, fairly small private reserve in the Greater Kruger. Some very nice and still affordable lodgings available who also provide game drives, game walks etc. Very close to Phalaborwa gate into Kruger.

its a big 5.

its a big 5. BUT because of so many private properties you can not game drive much of the reserve like other reserves and also within the reserve the owners of the lodges seem to not like each other that much. they gossip a lot about each other ( i did stay in different places in this reserve ) and i did not have this issue in other game reserves.

Dear Lengau Lodge Team,

Dear Lengau Lodge Team, We would like to sincerely thank you for our three-day stay with you. Loek and Ilse warmly welcomed us upon our arrival and patiently explained everything to us. On the same day, we went on an afternoon safari with Loek, which was simply wonderful. On the way to the lodge, we even encountered a group of elephants. Already on the first day, we were able to admire impalas, elephants, and lions. The location of the lodge directly in the Great Kruger Park is simply phenomenal. In the evenings, we could hear the roar of the lions, and the soundscape was truly unique. The lodge itself was very clean and tastefully decorated. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, from which you have a direct view of the bush and can observe animals. This was a wonderful opportunity to experience nature and wildlife up close. Loek was an extremely friendly safari guide and had extensive knowledge. We also had the pleasure of booking the gin tasting, which we can definitely recommend. It was evident that Luug and Ilse were very committed to providing their guests with a pleasant stay. However, we would also like to honestly share our experience that we felt unable to express every wish, as we were afraid of asking for too much. In our opinion, the food was not always sufficient, and instead of a breakfast buffet, there was a pre-set breakfast menu. We would have liked to be treated more individually as guests and to have felt that our wishes were positively received. Nevertheless, we would like to emphasize that overall we were satisfied with our stay at Lengau Lodge and would gladly recommend it. The warmth and efforts of Loek and Ilse impressed us, and the location of the lodge in the Great Kruger Park is simply unbeatable. We are glad to have chosen this lodge. It is a beautiful reserve, private but within the Kruger.

It is a beautiful reserve, private but within the Kruger. Access is vis outside gates, we exited at Orpen and was an hour drive, as two females ( mother and daughter) doing the drive, we felt completely safe.

perfect place to stay if you want to visit Kruger park, the couple with run this lodge has did great job to make you enjoy you staying there. The room is big and clean, the food is perfect, the wine list is great, no complains at all. Strongly recommend
