Hotels near Hermanus

Come to Hermanus for the sea views and shore walks. You MAY see a whale or two. Lovely drives with restaurants and coffee shops up and down the coast. Excellent mall for all your shopping needs. Interesting shops in the main street area. Well worth a stop to visit. The Hemel en Aarde valley is spectacular and Bosman's Winery is a must for wine tasting and charcuterie boards.

What a wonderful town, we visited 30 years ago and had to go back for our anniversary just to discover how much it expanded! We were priviledged to see whales and loved the Waterfront and surrounding restaurants. Absolutely loved the Hemel en Aarde Valley with surrounding wine farms, loved La Vierge and they made it so special when they heard it was our anniversary, brought us champagne to celebrate.

Hermanus is a stunning little town that we thoroughly enjoyed exploring! From the charming shops in the city centre to the wonderful restaurants and cafes, it truly is a special place to visit. We walked along the cliffs, admired the beautiful flowers, and watched so many whales enjoying the bay - whale season is truly a unique and unforgettable experience. We had a delicious dinner at Char’d and will definitely be back! We also visited some incredible wine farms, including Hamilton Russell Vineyards, La Vierge Wines, and Bouchard Finlayson Winery, to name a few. We loved the Hermanus Saturday market and found it easy to get around the town, especially if you have your own car. Hermanus is definitely a place worth visiting.

Love Hermanus, and visited many, many times, but in different accommodation. Love the Restaurants, the people-vibe and friendliness in the Town, the Sea-front area and Whale watching. Enjoyed lots of sea-food. Staying so centrally made it very easy to gry around the Village area, and had my car to explore further areas.Also pre-warned about petty crime, but Law-enforcement visibility was first class. My visits will continue. Solo travel is not for everybody, but I have a number of Friends in the neighbouring areas, so had company when it suited me. I went on this Trip to Re-set and Re-fuel after my Husband's passing earlier this year. I knew Hermanus would be the perfect place to do this .

A lovely town, walkable depending on where you stay though. There are great options for food and drinks, as well as range of accommodation types. Spotting whales left us in awe. We looked forward to a hike or walk along the beach but it was raining...

Going there at the end of September allowed to enjoy great weather and an opportunity to see whales during the start of the whale season. The city was not very busy during the week, but weekend it gets busier than usual. We had the Grotto beach all to ourselves from the morning, midday the sun is very hot during Spring or summer, thus a good time to head for some lunch at nearby resturants to enjoy ocean meals or popular flame grilled meat. The neighbourhood is calm and suitable to walk around in Hermanus centre.
