This was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were ALL absolutely lovely, helpful, friendly and attentive. Our room and every single space we visited were all spotless. The breakfast was delicious and the lunch/dinner menus had plenty of variety (although I did order the prawn linguini twice because it was so good). Modern pools, great gym, lovely spa. We will definitely stay here again. It is a short Uber ride away from town, main attractions, and about 20 minutes from the airport. There is underground parking available but we didn't need it. There's a lovely walking track around the golf course. Can't rate this place highly enough.

I grew up close to Jozi, so it’s always a sentimental experience to see it again. The mine dumps and distressed buildings in town, the cemeteries and tall buildings, I love it! Living in Cape Town where local government fixes roads and cleans the streets, I’m always a bit shocked when I go up to see the level of decay, but the people and the vibe at least makes up for it! I spent a lot of time in Joburg central this time at the markets, and I loved it! It just has something no other place does.

I like the surroundings and going to the mall.

I like the surroundings and going to the mall. However it is not like Cape Town where there is security allround in the city centre and you feel safe. It was however enjoyable but had to leave my phone and other gadgets in the room

Jo Burg is a place booming with character and creativity.

Jo Burg is a place booming with character and creativity. Some areas are a bit strange or may seem unsafe, and distances are a bit big for walking, but the art centers, museums, galleries, stores, restaurants, and libraries make up for everything. Bead-work jewellry and accessories, vintage clothes, furniture, decorations and books make up for everything else. People are super friendly, Uber is always reliable, and both the people and the place help visitors feel inspired.

The negative reviews told to me was opposite to what I saw. My comment, get a GOOD travel advisor, preferably a good company that can provide a honest and secured itinerary. I actually alone in Johannesburg and Pretoria, but I was lucky to be given a guide/driver that took good care of me.

Fantastically located hotel in a wonderful environment surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. It felt very safe to wander around and had everything which we loved. The staff were brilliant, particularly Boipele, the lady in guest relations/concierge from the NTC Tours company, who sorted out all our 'demanding' travel arrangements. Breakfast was also great. Excellent choices and we especially appreciated the local South African breakfast. Great hotel.

The hotel is a beautiful space in terms of decor, art and design. The staff were friendly and helpful. It felt almost as if we were staying in a home, rather than a hotel. The breakfast (which was complimentary) was excellent and the food in general very good. Having not travelled to Johannesburg very often, I appreciated the shuttle service from and to the airport.

My stay at Blackbrick Sandton was excellent. The rooms are smart and clean, staff is exceptionally helpful and responsive, and the facilities are minimalist but good quality. Especially the location, if you need to be in Sandton CBD, cannot be beaten. In terms of price/quality this is my favourite place in Johannesburg and I'll be coming back.
