The room view and comfort. Very good restaurant. Very good Breakfast. Silence. Very good wine. They help me to define what to do. I usually had been staying in Franschhooek at Leeu State (3 times) - I really preferred La petite Ferme.

Everything is wonderful, what an amazing place. An Oasis. We even decided on an extra night and will return. The garden is amazing, the hot tub and pool superb and the service spectacular. I cannot recommend this enough. Diego and Réka are support hosts. If you want to de-stress or take a break this is the place.

I had such a great week spending in Africas first and only bike hotel Trail‘s End! I mainly came here for mountainbiking issues and I didn’t get disappointed at all. The trails start right away and bring you to great areas with stunning views. The owners and stuff members are an amazing team, always friendly and care about your comfort. The food is delicious here. Also, the room was quite cozy and the common room is so spacious and nicely decorated that makes you feel homely. The whole atmosphere here is just perfect!

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. We spent our first night at Houw Hoek 20 years ago. This time we were spoilt by the catering staff with chocolate writing on our desert plates wishing us a happy anniversary. All staff were friendly and helpful

Wonderful place in gorgeous garden

Set in a beautiful valley surrounded by towering mountains, this B&B is a gem. Mariette the host is outstanding, and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to her we were recommended Leopards Leap and La Motte wineries which were both worth the visit! Our unit no.2 was exquisitely appointed with beautiful decor. The extra high ceilings and stunning cornices added to the feeling of grandeur. The architecture is modern contemporary with a throwback to centuries past. Indeed, you get the feeling of a homestead in a bygone era, but with all the modern comforts. The attention to detail in the presentation is stunning. The king protea arrangements in the rooms and common area are beautiful. The tiles in the bathroom add to the opulence as does the mother of pearl floor tiles in the shower. Of course there is a window strategically placed to provide a view of the mountains whilst showering! Bathrobes and slippers on offer provided added luxury. The bedding was 5 star. So comfortable with fresh, crisp linen. The estate has a vineyard which adds to the authenticity - after all, the main attraction of the Franschhoek region is exploring the plethora of “winefarms” in close proximity. The outside pool is lovely and surrounded by a garden which is beautifully maintained. As for the breakfast, Mariette the host and her staff provided a sumptuous start to the day. We started with a well presented offering of melon and strawberries, a choice of orange or apple juice, toast with marmalade, followed by muesli and natural yoghurt, and then the main dish options of a full English breakfast or a delightful omelette with a array of fillings. The Omelette option was delicious and a worthwhile choice! The room also had a full selection of Netflix and other apps as well as DSTV. We clearly loved our stay and the only sad aspect was that 1 night was too short! For those concerned about security, the venue is surrounded by secure perimeter fencing with added security guards.

Really lovely cottage set in a beautiful wine estate. It was very quiet and relaxing, but just a 5 minute drive from town. The cottage had everything we needed and was really comfortable and nicely decorated. Pool and dam were fantastic for swimming and relaxing. We had a wonderful wine tasting and there are so many great places to eat very close by. Hosts were so helpful and welcoming, we would definitely come back here and recommend to friends.
