The Blue Lily Retreat is amazing and and a great value-for-money stay if you want to experience the real, off-the-beaten- track Swartberg mountains. This is a real family stay and the hosts extremely accommodating and kind. Our daughter didn’t want to leave as she befriended the hosts dogs and cat. Highly recommend!

Quiet and secluded lodge with a limited number of rooms (ie. other guests) and lots of room to unplug and experience free roaming animals (even on the property!). Safari experience being less "touristy" as area for animals is huge and much less Safari vehicles roaming than in other places, so you were able to see them in their natural habitat rather than feeling like in a big zoo. Excellent food and also able to cater for dietary requirements (it's very rare to get dairy-free pancakes for breakfast :-) )

Breakfast was outstanding as was dinner. Willem was an exceptional host Loved seeing all the game.... they interrupted our dinner which was delightful but it landed up being a bit drawn out after a long days travel.

Unbelievable luxurious quiet retreat in the heart of the mountains. The tents and the lodge were both beautifully appointed with lovely rustic touches and absolutely everything you could need. The barbecue and cooking facilities are some of the best we ever seen and for the price per night there is no better anywhere. It’s absolutely top of the list of places to stay
