Had such a lovely, peaceful stay in the Shiraz cottage. The best host, went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. From firewood to recommendations. It was quiet and private, lovely views of the mountains and close enough to Tulbagh for some wine tasting. Would 100% go back for another visit!

Raptor Rise is in a very peaceful location with nice views of the mountains. The sunsets ere amazing. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. The room was very clean and bright. Everything you needed although a little compact. There are 3 or 4 wineries within a 5 minute drive and also a brewery/restaurant. Everything very handy if you don’t want to self cater. There is a small bbq outside each room and also a communal large kitchen area. There is a small swimming pool. The chickens are running round in the morning which is amusing.

The chalets are so quaint and beautiful. We enjoyed every minute and didn't want to leave, so we already made plans to come back. Even though it was very hot, we hardly needed the AC. Di chalets are cool, spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff are friendly and helpful. Load shedding is no problem, they made provision for it. We did the winetasting and it was well done, excellent wines. Don't miss the arts gallery!!

Historical, but also lots of wineries etc.

Historical, but also lots of wineries etc. Not much to do if you're not a foodie, or outdoorsy, probably, but if you are, it's a bit different to the usual wineries. Great place for a stopover on your way back to Cape Town. The town has gone to effort to put itself on the tourist map, which is commendable.

Tulbagh was pretty with historical buildings.

Tulbagh was pretty with historical buildings. Deli and Co was super to eat and early dinner at. We checked in and went to look at the town and eat. Didn't wasn't to drive around at night with a full car. We didn't bother with breakfast just left early after the awful night and moved on. I would return but definitely try to find a better place to stay. Prefer to stay outside of town.

Spectacular historic buildings, fruit farms, vineyards & associated wineries with beautiful mountains forming a backdrop. Road signposting in the town could be improved. The few potholes, also in the town, should be repaired.

I have fallen madly in love with Tulbach.

I have fallen madly in love with Tulbach. I haven't been there for years. It's simply magnificent. The surroundings are vast and spectacular. I loved the crisp cold winter air. The locals are friendly and sincere. Definitely a place everyone should visit.

It's a nice small town, very safe and friendly locals. The drive there is beautiful and the surrounding mountains bring a sense of calm. If you're a wine lover you can visit the many surrounding wine farms.

The cottages are perfect for a family getaway! The location is right on an amazing wine farm that has amazing wine, what more can you ask for. The pool is stunning, it’s clean and ready to be used. I make this point as often when you go to places that advertise a pool upon arrival the pool is usually under construction. This one is perfect! The laws are amazingly maintained! We will be sure to book this location again! Thank you team.

Beautiful views and outside entertainment areas. Perfect for children. Plenty fishing and swimming options for the hot days. Our host was friendly and very helpful. The rooms and bedding is all beautifully cleaned. Overall we really enjoyed out stay and would definitely recommend to family's who want to enjoy a relaxed weekend away. Wine farms surrounding make a great day outing too. All in close range.

The cottage location is quiet and in a beautiful setting at the back of Tulbagh. The kitchen facilities were perfect to cook and the inside fireplace kept the cottage cosy. Our dogs loved the open garden and were kept safe inside the fenced property. There are various routes to walk and explore around the farm or pop into town for a bite and coffee. Overall loved the experience.
